This one is not worth posting.

Right now, my top 10 would be:

 

1. Bowling Green

2. Male

3. Trinity

4. St. Xavier

5. Manual

6. Highlands

7. Simon Kenton

8. Scott County

9. Johnson Central

10. Covington Catholic

 

 

I would have Central in my Top 10 if not for their loss to Doss. John Hardin, DeSales, and CAL have decent cases. Belfry might be the Beast from the East if they can beat Johnson Central. Mayfield has a case for a top 10 spot as well.

 

I'm sure I'm leaving someone out, but I think there are a lot of teams who could make a strong argument for the #9 and #10 spots.

1. BG - Because they are there and rolling. Getting the job done so far and hard to argue they aren't number 1

2. HHS - Because I do believe they are good enough to hold this spot at this point in the season. I think they can play with BG, but we'll never know.

3. Trinity - I still think before it's all said and done, they will be your state champ. Their schedule will prepare them for the run.

4. Male - I think they are right there with T, but experience will get the best of them in the long run

5-6 (interchangable) St X and Manual - Both definitely in the run. But just think they are 1 notch behind 2-4.

7. Scott Co - schedule is pathetic, but I still think they are the best of the rest.

8. McCracken Co - no reason other than I feel like they are on a run.

9. John Hardin - solid program with good athletes

10. Johnson Central - solid program

11. Cov Cath - still a top team and hopefully getting a little healthy. (no idea though).

12. Central - Solid team and program

13. Simon Kenton - Great record but schedule is weak and they have struggled with some avg teams.

Highlands is hard to place since their only indicators are a loss in Cincy at the Pit where they lost their QB and a scrimmage early on against Trinity. Personally, I don't put a lot of stock in scrimmages. Never have. They are times to work on things, try out different lineups, etc.

 

Basically, I think Bowling Green is #1, we probably won't know how good either them or Highlands really are, and the only way they'd drop is with a close game against a much worse team or an upset loss. Seems most would agree that any of the top 6A teams could beat the other on a given night.

What about the Highlands wins over top 25 teams John Hardin and Covington Catholic? How about the win over a highly ranked Florida team? Those should help place Highlands in the top 5. If you are saying how do they compare within those top 5, then I see your point as the Trinity scrimmage is the only reference point.

1. Bowling Green - Reluctantly over Trinity. If they win this weekend, I will feel better about them at #1.

2. Trinity - Six of their 8 opponents are good enough to be in the top 5 in KY. If they had beaten Male, they would still be #1.

3. Male - I know, they beat Trinity. But in week 10, you have to look at the whole schedule and results.

7. Scott County - Play somebody. There are still a lot of undefeated teams left that are ranked lower than this.

8. Simon Kenton - Ditto above. If not for the two lopsided losses to Scott Co. last year, I would have SK one notch higher.

12. McCracken Co. - 4 points away from being undefeated and in the top 10.

13. Pulaski County

14. Johnson Central - Facing another undefeated team this week - Belfry.

#1 goes to BG because we have no way to prove otherwise. After that, toss up between HHS, T, M, H or X.
