Nope. You have got it wrong. The ultimate prize then was a "like" from Clyde. Same as it is today. Some things never change.

At Highlands the school provides the letter and bars. The boosters give each kid a certificate for $25 (I think this is right) towards the purchase of the jacket. The family picks up the remainder of the cost of the jacket. Others can correct me if I am wrong, it has been a few years since I went through the process.

Never saw a $25 certificate towards the jacket , but everything else was correct.

At Boyle the schools give out the letters and bars and the parents are responsible for the the purchase of the jacket. There are no grade requirements to earn your letter as my son was a 8 year letter in cross country. Unless something has changed in the past couple of years, it's still this way.

Parents bought the jackets at my HS as well. I'm glad, because I didn't like the "traditional" jackets, mine is a little different.

IDK but I want to ask but then on the otherhand I have a athlete that will be getting one and I would hate to open a can of worms that ends of costing me $$$. I assume similar cost but I would assume they get a volume discount
