After the recent cancellations between these 2 at the JV level, is it evident that 1 program wants to take another direction? Will they continue to play if they don't have to? I think I know the answer on HHS's part about wanting to schedule but does CCH not schedule and then come pounding on the door in a couple of years when their Super Class reaches the Varsity level.

 

I personally don't think they play if they don't have to. JMO!

I had zero doubt that Cov Cath would keep playing Highlands until this latest cancellation. I completely understood the first cancellation but this one has me scratching my head and starting to wonder.

CCH plays Moeller, why would they drop HHS? They'll keep playing.

Great question TBirds. With re-alignment coming again, does that put the two in different classes. Wait! Already are. Seriously, if they are not in the same State Classification, does it make sense other than travel expenses for Highlands, to keep playing each other. It's really a shame for this to have come to people discussing the possibility. Maybe it's just us Bird fans that have an issue here. But from the looks of other BGP posters and even some PH faithful, these are good questions. Idk HHS is coming off a bye week and we have all this built up inside from a two week hiatus, that we need to let it go. Just happens to be towards the CCH program. And rightfully so,

I would hate to see this rivalry end. CovCath no longer plays NewCath, or St.X (Louisville), two games that were always a challenge for the Colonels. So I guess it's possible the game could end, but it would be a great loss of revenue to both schools and quality games for both. I keep hoping there is another reason for the JV game being cancelled, something that hasn't come to light yet.

Doesn't seem to be a factor now. The gate at a HHS / CHH JV game is equal to what some schools get for the varsity contests. Cancelling JV games has financial impact. FTJFL was set to make some money on concessions, HABA was set to sell spirit wear.

I don't know why CCH would ever end this rivalry.

As an outsider to this issue and really area, I was shocked to see this could be a posibility! Why to you drop tour biggest, closest rival?
