October 4, 201312 yr Jim Bowden is saying Tony Larussa is a candidate and I have positive proof Larussa, Jocketty, and Chapman had dinner at Precinct last night. He would also have to talk him out of retirement. As much as I hate him, he would be a good pick.
October 4, 201312 yr He's a players coach/manager and he let his players get him fired. If the Red's players liked the laid back manager then they should have had better approaches at the plate and played with a little more fire.
October 4, 201312 yr Names I've already heard.... Bryan Price Jim Riggleman Dave Martinez Brad Ausmus Ryne Sandburg Terry Pendelton Joe Morgan Barry Larkin mentioned on the radio
October 4, 201312 yr I do wanna say. Thank you Dusty. You helped pull this team of of being a terrible baseball team. You were a key part in rebuilding this franchis. Unfortunately you plateaued, there was no improvement after 2010 in the playoffs, your time here had run its course. Thank you Dusty, enjoy your next opportunity.
October 4, 201312 yr Jim Bowden is saying Tony Larussa is a candidate and I have positive proof Larussa, Jocketty, and Chapman had dinner at Precinct last night. I hope not, I've always hated him as a manager and I would not like rooting for the Reds with him and his 50 moves and 4 hour games. I will root for them but I really wouldn't want to. lol
October 4, 201312 yr Joe Morgan Barry Larkin mentioned on the radio And I would be ok with giving Larkin a shot

Just getting ready to say, more than a few "baseball guys" have mentioned LaRussa as a possibility....Not sure how I'd handle that, but I can guarantee Marty would be looking for a way out of his new deal. May be worth it just for that.
October 4, 201312 yr No thanks. Price is the only one that makes sense at all, and I'm not sold on him being a manager. Agreed...

Would make for some very interesting pre-game interviews with Marty though
October 4, 201312 yr The players should be ashamed of themselves. He was one year from retiring on a real positive note and they took that from him.
October 4, 201312 yr Why do people keep mentioning Sandberg? Do they think he is just going to give up his Phillies job he just got?
October 4, 201312 yr Positive proof, huh? Let's have it... Maybe they were celebrating TLR's 69th birthday which is today.
October 4, 201312 yr Bowden has also mentioned Matt Williams, Barry Larkin, and Aaron Boone....Think he's just throwing out every baseball connected name he can at this point.
October 4, 201312 yr Maybe they were celebrating TLR's 69th birthday which is today. Are you saying you think he's too old to manage?
