I tried. I'm telling you. I would've bet everything that a day off and being swept to close the season at home this team would've come out and gotten it done. Heck, UKMF was making fun of me for being such an optimist (and he had every right to do so at that point). But I'm not sure that ground ball DP that Phillips booted didn't just do me in.

Yes, there's still 4 AB's and crazier things have happened. But if this is the final game of the season for the Reds it will be one of the most disappointing I can remember. Not because they didn't get to a series. Not because they didn't produce offensively like I thought they were capable of. But because they closed a season with promise with 6 straight losses AND they were playing for something.

I would rather have a choke job to miss the playoffs than one that ends like this one may.

Is it me or does the Reds pitchers look like everything they're tossing is up in the strike zone tonight?

2.87 ERA in 82 innings. Yeah. Simon is the problem...

I know one thing. If Johnny Cueto has 20 wins and a 2.00 ERA, I still would not be starting him in the first game of the post season next year.

Joey Votto coming to bat.

If no one is on base when he comes up, I predict he will get a base hit.

If there is one or two runners in scoring position, he’ll take a caled third

Ludwick has been the best offensive player so far... Who woulda thunk it?

Your theory is going to get a test.

Does it make me stupid to think there's still a chance?

Maybe Hamilton should have started 1st base. Ludwick is crushing it and choo did get on with a HBP and scored.

Good call. Votto is just completely different than what he was in 2010.

Takes two belt high pitches and gets himself in a hole to swings at the same pitch as last time with 2 strikes. He's a mess.
