Does it make me stupid to think there's still a chance?

Maybe Hamilton should have started 1st base. Ludwick is crushing it and choo did get on with a HBP and scored.

Haha, make it really wacky. Start Hamilton at SS like he was originally in the minors, play Cozart at 3rd, play Frazier at 1st. BOOM.

Joey Votto coming to bat.

If no one is on base when he comes up, I predict he will get a base hit.

If there is one or two runners in scoring position, he’ll take a caled third

You called it. Votto strikes out.

Here is where I think Votto is really messing up. It seems to me that he is too passive early in at bats. He always seems like he is batting with two strikes on him.

I've been saying that since opening day

Does it make me stupid to think there's still a chance?

Nah, just says you are a true fanatic, and I mean that in a good sense.

I am an optimist but I am also too pragmatic to be a true fanatic.

Now you're just being mean.

I still kind of have that feel that it's still possible. But it has to start with a single bad inning from Liriano, then a reliever contributing to the failure of the inning.

Now you're just being mean.

You're right, I'm sorry. I could happen in LRCWs dreams.

There's no time limit. To me, that means there's always a chance. NO matter how ridiculous that sounds...or is.

I tried. I'm telling you. I would've bet everything that a day off and being swept to close the season at home this team would've come out and gotten it done. Heck, UKMF was making fun of me for being such an optimist (and he had every right to do so at that point). But I'm not sure that ground ball DP that Phillips booted didn't just do me in.

Yes, there's still 4 AB's and crazier things have happened. But if this is the final game of the season for the Reds it will be one of the most disappointing I can remember. Not because they didn't get to a series. Not because they didn't produce offensively like I thought they were capable of. But because they closed a season with promise with 6 straight losses AND they were playing for something.

I would rather have a choke job to miss the playoffs than one that ends like this one may.

Unfortunately the issues that were mostly prominent throughout the season were even more on display over the last week as the starting pitching broke down. It is a 3 run HR philosophy with one HR hitter who isn't "allowed" to bat 4th because a lefty hits 3rd. They crapped down their leg once a series on the bases, couldn't situational hit to save their lives and weren't the defensive unit that they were supposed to be. Going to be a bumpy off season if this holds...

I was hoping to get a few people on my bandwagon for a comeback. You didn't bite.

Very much so.

Just not feeling it. I don't think they can string together 2 hits and they need about 6.

I'm with ya. They haven't put two hard hit balls together, unless you count the one that hit Choo before Ludwick's single.
