I think most of it is just too much faith in his players. He typically just leaves them in too long. I don't know what he was waiting on though. Even Liriano was making contact with everything Cueto threw.

October 2, 201312 yr I would have gone with Johnny Cueto. Retrospectively, did not look like a good decision. That was the hardest I have ever seen him hit. Votto continues to strike out with runners in scoring position. I am glad Simon didn’t get the call from Dusty.
