What To Do With Bronson?

Soft crap won't win in the post season. For me at least, how they handle Arroyo will go a long way in determining the mindset of management. Personally, he can't be a foundation of your staff from here on out at his age. You have to rely on Cingrani being a stalwart in the rotation.

Nodding in approval.

Arroyo has never been a guy whose impressed me. As a guy on the back end of Boston's rotation, he had a nice year. What else has he really done? Way too prone to the long ball.

I wont go that far. He's a machine. Reliable doesn't even scratch the surface. But, I think this team needs to have a stout LHP in the rotation, and Cingrani has to be that candidate with his performance this year. Obviously, durability has to be a concern.

I think you have to let Arroyo walk. He's been a great asset for this team but its time to move on.

Arroyo's been great for the city of Cincinnati and a reliable veteran for the younger guys, but imagine what we could get freeing up that 16 million we paid him this year. Have to let him walk.

I like Arroyo a lot & you pretty well know what you're going to get from him, but I'd go a different direction.

He was really good for the Reds in the playoffs 2010 and 2012 and he didn't light up the radar gun those years, but I agree that Cingrani should take over for him. Does anyone have anything definitive on Latos' health. If he's got arm issues that may change the equation.

They should give him a 1 yr tender, so when he signs elsewhere they can recoup a draft pick...

Spend that money on Arroyo or Choo ............ didn't take long to make that decision, did it?

Money's already spent....And it ain't on Choo.

A good businessman is a year early in letting someone go, if that's even the case for Arroyo.

Didnt Bronson shift a good chunk of his contract for the Reds into future years, so were paying him anyway right?

$15M deferred without interest, paid through 2021

Arroyo knows we can't pay him what someone else will give him. Thank him for what he has done and meant to this organization. Then move on.

As long as they don't pay him for what he has done and pay him for what he will do, I'm fine with whatever they choose. Assuming he doesn't want a pay cut that most likely means not signing him.
