Ryan Ludwick Calls Out Fans

Featured Replies

For the sake of keeping the peace. I will say this in closing. If you get on here and you constantly bash this team and the organization, then you better have your butt there in the stands when they are going good and playing for a home playoff game this weekend.

The Cardinals did not lose their ace and 2 best set up men for most of the year, nor did they lose their 4 hitter for 5 months. And again your theory makes no sense. They are winning! And to play the other side, why didnt the fans come out last year during the final stretch of the season? Last year was the same story, did they underachive then to?

Then why was there no complaining from the players last year?

Ludwick's loss didn't hurt the team all that much IMO. Last year was the exception rather than the norm for him.

Just because someone published an article this year means that nobody was upset last year? I am simply showing you the facts. They are right there in the numbers.

In true Cincy fan fashion they will likely boo Ludwick Friday because they are idiots.

Cardinals lost Carpenter for the year. Garcia for pretty much the year. Westbrook as well. that is 2/5 of the starting rotation and then a third for a part of the year.

Craig has missed all of September and Adams has stepped in. Holiday missed some time as well.

To top it off they lost their closer and 8th inning set up man from last year. Motte has missed the entire season and Boggs fell completely out of the league.

Clearly im beating a dead horse. The numbers are right there for ya. You can say they underachieved, you can say losing Cueto, Marshal, Broxton, and Ludwick, and still winning 90 games and making the playoffs doesnt mean anything. But none of that changes the fact that even last year down the stretch, in a 97 win season and a division title, the "fans" did not come out then either. Which goes back to what i said earlier. Cincinnati is not a sports town.

My point is crowd doesn't affect peroance. Last year it obviously didn't

What were they supposed to be energized about? The multitude of called third strikes Votto took? The inability to get on base against garbage pitchers like DiceK and Harang? Leake giving up 9 hits over 12 batters? Those kinds of things zap any energy right out of a crowd.

I was there Tuesday night. The place was full of energy until Mike Leake imploded, it was going crazy when Votto came up with 1st & 3rd, no one out, and they were down 4-1. He quickly deflated the sails with a weak GIDP, and that was that. The fans will have energy until the players take the energy away.

I was also there Tuesday and I agree. It was loud early and there was energy. It went away quickly because of performance not because fans weren't into the game.

Oops.

Another millionaire telling me how to spend my money. Good riddance Mr. Ludwick.

He already told you they broke the attendance record. What more can they do?

I don't think anyone will deny St. Louis is a better baseball town than Cincinnati, but since San Francisco was brought up....

Cincinnati

Population: ~300,000

% of population under 18 or over 65: ~33%

Avg. Household income: ~$34,000

% Below Poverty Line: ~27.5%

San Francisco

Population: ~825,000

Population under 18 or over 65: ~27%

Avg. Household Income: ~$73,000

% Below Poverty Line: ~12%

Besides the obvious demographic differences, the Giants happened to win 2 of the past 4 (or 5) World Series Titles. I'm going to assume that buys them some loyalty from the fanbase.

Not even close to what he said. But faux outrage defines the Cincinnati sports fan...

It's becoming a recurring theme.
