Ryan Ludwick Calls Out Fans

Featured Replies

I never said he was wrong. I just question the comment coming from him. Been here not even two years' date=' and has been a zero this season. Why would Ryan Ludwick think that Reds fans would give a hoot about what he had to say?[/quote']

Why would fans of a team care what a player on said team says? Is that really your argument?

Faux outrage...

So the fans of the Reds who love the team don't care what Ryan Ludwick says and you say him saying something to the papers would have no affect?? Well from 20-25 thousand to 2 strait 40 thousand sellouts. I'd say someone listened. And before you come back with the response of "and they lost both games" save it. Ludwick never said the crowd is why they lose or win. He asked why they weren't coming out and why they were amped up, and they responded to him. That's why he's a veteran making 7.5 million

I'd say the importance of this series, it being the weekend, and the beautiful weather had about 1000% more to do with these games selling out than anything any Red could have said...

Some thoughts:

The headline of the article is "Ryan Ludwick Calls Out Fans". If that isn't enough, Ludwick himself says, "I might be calling out fans..."

Further, here's a verbatim quote:

"Coming over here, I heard about how big a baseball town this is. We’ve put a winning ballclub out there’’ three of the last four years, said Ludwick. “This is a good team. When we went to Pittsburgh, they had an advantage. (Fans) were loud. A playoff atmosphere.’’

I don't know any way to take the above quote OTHER THAN it to imply that a better home field atmosphere is an advantage that would lead to more wins.

You don't call out your own fans. You encourage them, but you don't call them out. What does that really accomplish?

No, that it's coming from Ryan Ludwick.

Seriously? You really think Ludwick's statement lead to the sellouts, that if he hadn't said that there wouls have been 20-25 thou in the stands. Really? Someone with the vast wealth of baseball knowledge as yourself would know better...
