Mercy Rule Fines? Dale Mueller quoted

Featured Replies

Mercy rule's $200 fine in California youth football league brings protests | Fox News

In September, Dale Mueller, a high school coach in Kentucky, told The Herald-Leader that there’s no disgrace to losing big. He cited a scrimmage in which his team was left for dead.

"Trinity led us 51-0 at halftime, and it was a great experience for our guys," he said. "One thing about guys is we usually have an overinflated view of ourselves, and it's good sometimes to realize we're not the greatest in the world."

I don't think Dale is on the receiving end of a mercy rule very often...

That rule in California is absolutely ridiculous.

California is a nice place...

to visit.

There is a joke to be made about Mueller's quote, but the last time I cracked a joke about Highlands and one of their gross mis-conceptions I had a poster get upset...

Their comparision to the KY rule makes it wound like the KY rule is similar to the CA rule and it is very different. Maybe CA. should award every team the title every year. The message some people want to senf to out kids today is mind blowing to me and hurts our society in many ways

See I told you guys Highlands is Nationally known, LOL...Just sayin

Yeah would be nice if media could post factual info. Clock rule is 36 in KY not 45. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there media coverage of football around here? Or sports for that matter? :sarcastic:

Remember California is bankrupt. So any extra revenue for their Athletic Association is much needed.

I guess they are. Too bad its as a whipping boy.

Don't you wish!

I think in MA they suspend the coach for a game if the score gets out of hand.

California is a microcosm of everything that is wrong in this country.

Seriously the average person that reads that story across the country will think that Highlands must be really bad. So bad that when the local (Lexington) paper needed a quote from a coach from the perspective of getting blown out they went to this poor coach since he must have a lot of experience getting blown out. That's what 99% of the people reading that article across the country will think. Even though it is far from the reality.

Or you could look at it like the whole country thinks Trinity is AWESOME...:D. It's all about perspective.
