Central's visitors side is very small and cramped. They fill up their own home side. There's only a very narrow between the visitor's stand an the track around the field. I was there for a Manual game vs Central and you could hardly move. There's simply no way a Trinity crowd would be able to fit. Since the field is bounded the school wall, and a very high brick wall I don't see how fire codes wouldn't be violated.

I do have a question. If Central offers home and home, and the excuse is the could not handle the crowd, isn't that Central's problem and not Trinity's? I'm not trying to be smart with this. Just trying to look at another angle of the same problem.

 

If the gate is going to Central, isn't it their problem/responsibility to "figure out" how they would host such a large game? It's only one game.

 

Furthermore, wouldn't the "cost factor" be a plus for Trinity. Instead of paying tremendous travel expense to an "out of state" opponent, they merely ride across town and save "A LOT" of $. For one game.

 

Now, I'm going to ask this because I don't know. Is the "safety" issue only about stands (and maybe Central could rent some stands to add to their visitor's side? :idunno:) of is the safety about something else? Just asking and trying to bring a different perspective since some have spoken about Trinity turning down an offer from Central.

 

I do know this, it would be a BIG boost to Central's program to play a team as awesome as Trinity. It would maybe even be a big boost to some Central players "getting looks" vs. Top competition from Colleges.

I am a Scott County fan and our coach for what ever reason does not play private schools. I will say this Trinity does not dodge any football program in KY because of fear of losing.

Trinity does not dodge any team, whether in Kentucky or not, for fear of losing. Coach Beatty is not hung up on won-loss records or national rankings.

I don't think they dodge them for fear of losing either. I think they don't want to play a lot of teams because they won't gain anything from playing them as to why I mentioned a Dayton of Bellvue or Ludlow etc. What would they gain from having a running clock after the 1st qtr?

 

That is why I think it isn't only on other schools not wanting to play them, I think it is also on Trinity for not wanting to play because it won't help their cause any.

 

As far as the Central thing, who cares if Central can't facilitate the T fans, they will get over it. Do all the fans travel to Florida if Trinity plays in Florida? Bascially as another poster put it, it's Central who loses on the ticket sales so who really cares if some fans have to miss the game.

It's hard to describe..but literally, there's not 1 square inc of extra room @ Central that I saw.

 

 

All of that being said, I love the atmosphere there, their band, thwir drumline and their concessions are HANDS DOWN the best I've ever had. They are very hospitable hosts IMO

The question I have is this. Would it really hurt Trinity that much to play at Central for 1 game?

Why do we conclude teams are dodging Trinity?

 

1. Because we see it with our own eyes in their schedule.

2. Because we were just told they asked 3 top 6A teams to play and all those teams said no.

If Trinity would rather play 9 games and get 100% of nothing than to play a home and home vs Central that is snobbery. I wouldn't consider it dodging, but just being uppity.

No, it actually is the case based on conversations with staff members at Trinity. Why would these staffers give out mis-information? Why would Trinity dodge Bowling Green? Chattanooga must be a prettier drive. Having St. X on the schedule has proven to be beneficial to the Purples.

I never said Trinity was dodging BG. I said BG wasn't dodging Trinity and that one sided conversations don't prove anything. What dates did Trinity want to play BG and did BG have an open date? I need more meat and potatoes in the form of a conversation before I can agree to BG dodging Trinity.

One thing is crystal clear and that is BG is not going to dodge anyone. They've played T/X something like 7 years in a row? If I'm not mistaken before their 3 recent wins against X they played T pretty tight every year, didn't they?
