I'd say the Big 3 is still Trinity-Highlands-St. X and BG is seriously knocking on St. X's door for that #3 spot.

You're right. I forgot about Highlands. OK , the new big 4. BG-T-X-Highlands.

 

It's all about consistency. Can BG produce top level teams year after year after year? Top 2 to 3 teams

The more knowledgeable T fans can answer this better than you or I, but if its true that most of the good teams don't want to play T then what is there for T to gain out of playing 2nd tier 4,5,6A teams? Wouldn't they want to play teams that give them some kind of competition? Or would refer to see running clocks in the 2nd Qtr every week when T plays those 2nd or even 3rd tier teams in KY?

We like to play the best in state....our district provides that......HHS and BG could as well......it is not happening now.....so we go get some of the best in the region.....I have no interest in middle to low level 4, 5, and 6A games. The playoffs provides a margin of that now.

This. Highlands, as much as some of their fans make my eyes spin like a penny slot, are absolutely still in the State of KY Big 3.

The thing about this argument relative to Trinity that makes me giggle is, a scant few years ago, people were criticizing Trinity for beating up on over-matched in-state teams. Now we are criticized for finding competition out of state and not playing the in-state teams.

If Trinity would rather play 9 games and get 100% of nothing than to play a home and home vs Central that is snobbery. I wouldn't consider it dodging, but just being uppity.

You just said what I've been saying all along. It's not that everyone is dodging T but it is also T not wanting to play a lot of the teams in state.

How about this: Other schools felt there was no benefit to scheduling Trinity in years past. Now, Trinity feels there's no benefit to scheduling in state schools.

While it would usually be a white-wash, I'd prefer to watch Trinity come up to CovCath and play (as part of a home-and-home) than watch Moeller or St. X cross the river to play. I'd love to see Highlands and CovCath schedule T (please don't hit me with the scrimmage info) and St. X on a regular basis.

Really, in the end, you just like the opportunity to say "I'm right". And you basically just want to hear that from everyone else. You don't really care that it's more complicated than you'd like to delve into....just....right now...you're right...

Actually I could care less if anyone says I'm right. I enjoy it more that you are so butt hurt because it kills you to finally say what I told you weeks ago.

 

It's not more complicated at all. Basically it's very simple.

 

1. Trinity shouldn't have to play teams that are far below their talent level because they won't gain anything from it plus it won't help in their ultimate goal of being considered one of the nations best.

 

2. KY teams shouldn't have to play Trinity if they don't want to because it won't help their program to get beat by 60+ etc.

 

Now when there is a quality team that wants to play T and T backs out because of a lame reason like they don't like their facilities, then T fans like yourself need to stop saying no one will play them because that is an outright lie and as the other poster said makes you sound like snobs.
