Hellbird makes a great point. Even if BG played Trinity's schedule and had the same losing record that Trinity currently has doesn't mean that BG wouldn't beat Trinity.

Trinity is playing a team this week that is 2-3, and that team could easily be 0-5. If they lose this week and stay number 1, HB will need to meet with a therapist.

Looks like the rankings were just updated today. BG now #2, Highlands #3.. Mayfield up to #8.

 

I don't know if I'd put much stock into this ranking system........they have #52 Newport Catholic with a 2-3 record (should be 1-4) and the #71 team LONE OAK doesn't exist anymore. :no:

Thank you, that's what I've been preaching for a month now. Too many people want to look at history which makes no sense when determining the best team this year. High School Football has differnt players on the team every single year which means the team is different every single year. But some fans of a team that has historically been #1 think the past is what counts when talking about current years team.

 

I think BG is the best team right now this year, but some have an ego that won't let go of the past.

Some think 3 losses is better than no losses.

 

Then dont post 34-0. Look BG is a very good team but just because Trinity has lost to 3 teams that IMO would beat BG doesnt give them the edge over Trinity. Thats just my Opinion to this point in the season. Lets talk after the St. X - Trinity game.

On that basis alone, I wouldn't rank them above #72.

And after X and T play a knock down drag out and the winner wins by less than a td then they'll say it was a rivalry game. Built in excuses all around. Kind of makes me wish I was affiliated with T or Highlands so I could sit atop my mountain and look down on everyone else.

The teams Cathedral (Ben Davis, Warren Central(IN), and Cincy X) lost to would fare very well against the "best of Kentucky" this season.

And we will never know if BG is as good as Trinity so until someone from KY beats them they are #1

 

Not that I totally disagree, but, with exception to there district games, who does T play in Ky? I only say this because I've heard a hundred times this same sentiment that until someone from Ky beats them then they're #1, but, that actually only means until Male, St X or Manual beats them or 1 or 2 other playoff teams because that's the only ones that have a chance. Not laying blame at anyone's feet, because I'm sure most Ky teams wouldn't want any part of T, but, I'm also pretty sure that there are only a select few that T has any interest in playing. I just don't think this particular argument is valid due to these circumstances.

Only in KY is playing the #1 program in the state from 2007-10 and then scheduling the #3 program in the state for the next 4 years looked down upon. Nevermind if it was already agreed upon and scheduled beforehand. The last time BG played Trinity they lost 14-10 wasn't it? Yeah, scared......:no:

 

 

No wonder we suck as a state in football and our #1 program had a sweet 2 year run at being one of the top teams in the nation. Back to reality time I guess since that school is no longer elite nationwide and grasping at straws to be elite statewide.

Trinity hasn't Earned the right to be called the best team in the state this season. Plain and simple.
