The only way to decide who the best is is to have every team play every team and go from there and that is impossible to do. So I simply wish some would stop living off the past and realize we are talking 2013.

 

BG could play T's schedule and do the same but without them playing eachother it really doesn't matter

 

In 2013 it is a sad day if the best team in the state has a losing record. If you want to keep talking about "Well look who they played" well that is fine, then win those games, if you lose then you have no argument that holds any water with me. Anyone can play a tough schedule and lose...doesn't make them the best.

Only in KY is playing the #1 program in the state from 2007-10 and then scheduling the #3 program in the state for the next 4 years looked down upon. Nevermind if it was already agreed upon and scheduled beforehand. The last time BG played Trinity they lost 14-10 wasn't it? Yeah, scared......:no:

How any instate teams do you play before the playoffs? It's not anyone's fault T chooses to play out of state tes until district play and don't say it's because no one will play T, maybe it's because T chooses not to play in state teams until district games.

The more knowledgeable T fans can answer this better than you or I, but if its true that most of the good teams don't want to play T then what is there for T to gain out of playing 2nd tier 4,5,6A teams? Wouldn't they want to play teams that give them some kind of competition? Or would you prefer to see running clocks in the 2nd Qtr every week when T plays those 2nd or even 3rd tier teams in KY?

I am in no way the most knowledgeable T poster. But Trinity has been essentially forced to play this type of schedule, and there are threads about how we got to this point. I don't mean a single thread. But if you do searches about Trinity, you can find the "history" in the discussions over the years. A lot of them have been in the Public/Private debates. I can't think any school intentionally adds the expenses traveling so far, so often bring. I also don't think Trinity doesn't want to play in state games. I DO think that the evolution of the current method of scheduling has brought some benefits to the program (is exposure, extremely competitive games that draw crowds,). I think another consequence is that some players choosing their school are drawn to that exposure too.

 

In short, we didn't choose this road, IMO. But now we've travelled too far to turn back. (No pun intended). There's no benefit to changing what we are doing, as the program continues to be solid and improving.

Sure, that's why Trinity has 9 game regular seasons the past three years. Next year, the Rocks currently have 8 games set. Ballard did ask but ENSWORTH and ESPN trumped that for now. The northern KY schools were offered "bus fare" and a return game in exchange for a home game. Ryle. Simon Kenton, etc. all passed on the opportunity. Scott County isn't interested. Trinity has turned down Central because they insist on home and home and their venue can't safely hold a Trinity crowd.

That's a shame about Central as you have to like a smaller school offering to step up.

It is a shame they couldn't work it out. It's also ironic that it is everyone else's fault for not bowing to want Trinity wants to get a game scheduled. If I was Central I would definitely want that home gate money that Trinity brings. I can't blame them for wanting a a home and home. Would it have been that hard to have a fire marshall allow so many people in and once that number is hit no one else can enter? I don't know that I have ever heard that excuse before. Safely hold a crowd? That's new to me.

On the serious side of dodging, what about these schools dodging Trinity? If you were a head coach at a top 6A school, would you want to play Trinity? If you knew you may face them in the title game or semi-finals, would you play a regular season game against them?

 

Personally, I would. I don't care if I get "rocked" (like that one T fans? Surely it has been used before by T). I would use that game to try to find some advantage and find out where my weaknesses are to prepare for the rematch.

We were also told they turned down Central. Also why does it have to be the 3 top 6A teams? Why not other teams in the state? Do those 3 teams represent every single team in the state? apparently not, Central wanted to play.

I never said there are teams that don't want to play Trinity. There are. What I am also saying is there are teams Trinity won't play also. It goes both ways.
