September 8, 201313 yr Just a few short years ago Texas was in such a strong position that it single handedly dictated the landscape of college football. In a money grab Texas took a sweetheart deal to stay in their conference, forcing the other members to play second fiddle in almost every way, but especially financially. Texas A&M, not wanting to go all in as little brother forever, set out for the SEC and turned Texas on its ear. It's A&M that now has the upper hand, no longer conceding in monetary ways and playing in the best conference. In the long term the leveled financial situation and recruiting advantage that the SEC provides will put A&M way in front of TX and maybe forever. My guess is Texas is to money hungry to leave for the PAC 10 and falls to also ran status level for a long time.

I agree with everything you said, except for the Strong staying part. I think he's in a great position, but after tonight, I'm going to amend my post in another thread on Strong. Texas, Florida, and USC all have a lot of money and a lot to offer. All seem to have coaches on the hot seat. Lot of football between now and January, but UL fans may need to stock up on the TUMS, as this could be a nervous off-season watching the coaching turnover.
September 8, 201313 yr Gives me a lot of hope that my rebels can get the win next week. BYU burned Texas up on the read option and I know Ole Miss will run that better than BYU.
