I agree. I mean if I was just a saber metric guy I would agree with him. But the eye test tells the story in the role he's playing. (See what I did there spindoc/Crash?)

 

I was just saying C.Trent can't be too surprised. If you say a guy isn't doing his job you may be right, but he doesn't have to like you for it and might say something to you about it at the ouch table.

I hate to say it, but you're very right. And I don't think anybody on the roster dislikes the Cardinals as much as BP. And I love him for his passion.

 

By the same token, he was very disappointing in that audio clip. He's got to be bigger than that, and definitely more professional than that.

 

On another note, it's never wise to crack mean-spirited jokes at guys whose currency is the English language. If that had been me, BP would've either been crying from hurt feelings or answering to a lawsuit for assaulting me. And I would've been laughing my fat behind off the whole time.

Dude's not bad on the radio at all. He just needs to lose a few or get there earlier so I don't have to hear his mouth breathing in to the mic.

I've taken heat from many people for years for professing that BP is a complete phony...several of them texted me last night to eat crow (which I appreciated).

BP should have been done from this team years ago because of his antics. This is just another peice of a very bad puzzle. Seeing Dusty just laugh while its going on shows you why this team has no give a darn about it and never will with him at the helm. Also shows your the smarts of BP, to say what he said one on one to C. Trent, with the door closed, fine I have no issue, but to barge into a meeting with Dusty and media guy (knowing they are recording it on some level, they do it every day) just shows hes nothing more than a dumb selfish clown.

 

If I am Castellini, Dustys gone and BP for sure is gone at season end, if not sooner, no reason for this at all.

Did I miss a tweet? The only tweet I saw gave BP's OBP and Frazier's OBP. I didn't see anything critical at all. Straight up factual numbers.

Another reason I dislike the over-emphasis on stats. Different approaches at the 2 hole and 4 hole. Is OBP important, absolutely. However, changes in the batting order are necessary for multiple reasons. Nothing he accomplished in the 4 hole says he can or can't do anything in the 2 hole. Heck, most have been begging him to be in the 2 hole.

 

Agreed, which is why Votto should hit 2nd and BP should hit 3rd. Tough to argue with last nights results though. I'm just glad their best 5 hitters are finally hitting 1 trough 5 in some order with Cozart and Frazier coming after the other 5.

 

Side note BP has a carrer OBP of 321 and it's 327 in his 8 years here so it's not like he lights it up OBP for the 2 hole.

No way. He is a phony like someone else on here mentioned. Greg Doyel gave a couple examples of when BP got mad at him for no reason. He got mad last night at CTR for no reason. He started an all out war with the Cards for no reason and since then the Cards have owned the Reds head to head. He accused a pitcher of calling him a name that could be considered a racial slur. The pitcher vehemently denied it and the video evidence seemed to back the pitcher. He whined about Votto getting a deal done before him even though Votto is far better than him and it could have divided the clubhouse. Speculation around town was he was so jealous of Josh Hamilton the Reds felt forced to part with one or the other.
