Adam Wainright is due for a bad outing. Unfortunately, it won't be tonight.

Do you think Votto could play for Lou?

If he was getting paid, I'd hope so. It's a job, bottom line. If he couldn't I'd send him out the door. And let's be honest, he's seldom the problem. He's the best player.

There is no question this team misses Rolen and it is why I would fear the pitching staff losing Arroyo. I think the Reds are lacking "pro's" this year. I watch a lot of Reds games and a lot of Cardinals games and the biggest difference between these two is the fun they have. It's weird, the 2013 Cards remind me of the 2010 Reds (attitude wise) and the 2013 Reds remind me of the 2010 Cards. The Cards had a guy like Pujols, but the club was just too tense and that is why they went out and got Berkman, Theriot, Punto. Clubhouse guys who other young players could learn how to be a pro from.

This offseason, if the Cards pass on Beltran and I'm the Reds FO, I overpay for him because Beltran would do wonders off the field for the Reds.

On a side note, any of you Big Red Machine/Great 8 guys... I would purchase some tickets to the Friday night game (September 6th) vs the Dodgers next week. Plenty of seats still available right now but that may change soon.

So, what's the answer then? Seriously, I said it last night, can you imagine Lou managing this bunch? The "player's manager" approach is fine for some clubs, not this one IMO.

It's tough to put it on the manager when you aren't healthy. You can't predict injuries on your #1 starter, your second best lefty and your 4 hitter.

Your right about that but the Cardinals have lost 2/5 of starting rotation, 3 including westbrook being on the DL. They lost starting SS for the year as well. Changed closers. Managers can help hold the team together to a certain degree.

Come on. It's not those guys, or the absence of them, that we are discussing as problems. Not one thing to do with them. Record, performance, sure those guys out is an issue. I'm talking fundamental baseball. Hell, fire every manager in the farm system if you have to because these clowns fail baseball 101.

Which was going to be the next part of my plan, get better players. The Cards are a better organization, top to bottom. They have much more depth. Everyone throws in the 90's. That helps.

Then fire the GM.

You guys seen the change in line up for tonight. Very interesting. I figure it's not my place to post it.

Why not? Post it when you see it.

With all that you guys still blame Baker. SMH

He doesn't understand a lot of stuff that is very easy to understand, but he hasn't been awfully terrible this year. Moving BP tonight to 2 instead of just dropping Votto, BP and Bruce down is awfully dumb though.

Then fire the GM.

fire em all
