How many BGPers have you met?

Featured Replies

I wouldn't begin to make a list because I know I would leave off some. I have met several BGPers over the years but there are many of you I'd like to meet that I haven't had the chance yet.

LB13 mentioned the legend WVFrank. I had the pleasure of meeting him and spending some time with him a few months before he passed.

For some of the new member who might not know, WVFrank was former Boone Co. basketball player Sydney Moss' grandfather.

It was always a pleasure to chat with him. Sat next to him on three occasions when Boone Co. and NewCath played, he ALWAYS had pencil and paper to keep Sydney's stats and he had all of her stats on hand and for the ready in case you ever wanted to know. Drove up and back from W. Virginia for every one of her games. BGP & his family lost a great man with his passing.

Caught every one of her games despite a 4+ hour drive (8 to 9 hour round trip) . The night I talked to him he wasn't leaving NKY before 9:00 or 9:30 and had to be at work in the morning.

I think that is all :lol2:. Just call me the "man of the people". Know about 10 to 15 others, but have not met.

If BGP was a city, Lawnboy would be working the Red Light district.

The mention of Patrick.Kelsch reminds me that I have seen goldie before, but never met her. We were at the 10th Region finals the year GRC beat Pendleton. Kelsch pointed her out to me while the GRC faithful were in celebration mode on the Fieldhouse floor. I didn't want to interrupt Ms. Sunrise, as she seemed to be having a blast.

You should have joined the celebration with me and the other GRC fans....:thumb: Sure hope we can meet in person this year.

These are just off the top of my head. Sure there are others I've met and don't know their screen names. If someone comes up to me and says, "Hey, statman!!" Don't know if they are BGPers or if they know me since that's the nickname I went by at Holy Cross and now go by at Beechwood.

I think we should wear the same color bracelet or something so that BGPers would recognize each other. Oh, I'm sorry, that's what swingers do...oops! :woot:

Maybe we could rotate a BGP convention around the state every year for those interested.

For anybody who wants to add me to their list, you can find me for the next dozen Friday nights or so on the Holy Cross sidelines. We are providing live stats again this year. Stop and say hi.

If anyone wants to come to Pikeville I'm down. Other than that I'm out. Haha

Very few of us in WKY
