Probably so because those are traditional football powers. UK is not. While I really enjoy the UK/UL series, I wouldn't blame Kentucky for wanting out of the series if the SEC does expand to 9.

That said, we WILL be selling pumpkin-infused Early Times mint juleps with all proceeds going to The Tom Jurich Needs a New Vacation Home Fund.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with a picture of some UL fans tailgating & they were all drinking Crown Royal. Something like that.

August 21, 201313 yr Count me as someone whose a fan of playing the game late. I think playing it last helps UK more than it helps Louisville though. For UK, the most it probably means is whether or not we go to a bowl game or whether or not we go to a more desirable game. For Louisville, at least in the more immediate future, it probably has much larger implications. This is coming from someone whose Dad has had UK season tickets since before he was born.
August 21, 201313 yr When the series started I was big on having the game at the end of the season. I am good with it at the end or the first game of the year. I hate 3rd game of the year. I think it was stupid to move the game. Now at the end of the year it can make someones season if they are having a bad year. Another reason it would be good because now each team fan base will really want to know what is going on through out the year qith their rival!
August 21, 201313 yr One stated reason for having the game as the first game was that it generated interest throughout the state during the summer lead up to the game. I think that aspect will be lost now. Hopefully, both programs don't need that first game now to get their fans engaged.....but you can change coaches and add to your stadiums only so many times.
August 21, 201313 yr I guess I'm "Old Fashioned," in that I like the game being the first one of the year. Didn't like it when UK made it the 3rd game at their place, don't like this right now. Maybe it will grow on me. It will when UofL is undefeated and UK beats them. Wait, you wouldn't like that. Seriously though, I am in the boat that favors late season rivalry games. It means that I'll watch a UK football game past Sept 15th.
August 21, 201313 yr I LIKE IT!! More times than not, this game has conflicted with a USF home game or an away game I'm attending. Last year's Sunday game was great for me. This year, the noon start means I won't miss it, 1st half at home, 2nd half on the big screen at the Bull Backers' Lot, then a 7 PM FAU/USF kickoff. Now, with the UCF/USF game being pushed by The American to be played on Friday, this couldn't be better. I'll not have to watch it on replay anymore.
