It means that I'll watch a UK football game past Sept 15th. If UofL gets through the ACC schedule undefeated, UK won't beat them.
August 21, 201313 yr One stated reason for having the game as the first game was that it generated interest throughout the state during the summer lead up to the game. I think that aspect will be lost now. Hopefully, both programs don't need that first game now to get their fans engaged.....but you can change coaches and add to your stadiums only so many times. Just using this year as an example, the summer leading up to the Ohio game hasn't been nearly what last summer leading up to the UK game was..

August 21, 201313 yr I love it. A great weekend of football just got more compelling for us in this state. I hope the series never ends. All of those games that weekend come on at different times. UK/UL will only be up against one or two of them at the same time. Hopefully it won't be FSU/UF. Great 2014 schedule for what should be a much improved UK team. Great thread. We wanted into the ACC and we got it. I hope Strong's ready to really step up his game. That's a monster.

We know that those are the games and which ones will be at home since we're sliding into Maryland's ACC spot and getting their schedule. I think Jurich doesn't want to go until October without a home game either. That's why we'll lose Marshall. The ACC (and other leagues) have also been moving conference games earlier and earlier so it wouldn't be surprising to see us kick off the season against an ACC opponent, so maybe we'll get an early home game that way... No way they keep just 6 home games.
