Looks like Broxton will be going back in the DL.

Talked to Broxton, he was pretty emotional. Said it was a new injury, new spot. Said it was like a knife in the muscle of his elbow

Broxton: 'It was that one pitch -- zing, it felt like a knife in the belly of my forearm.'

Broxton: 'It was that one pitch -- zing' date=' it felt like a knife in the belly of my forearm.'[/quote']

Ill go ahead and get the fat joke outta the way. He's so fat even his forearm has a belly.

I was at the game and even with the eraly huge lead, I just never felt comfortable. It was 8-4 in a blink of the eye. When Leake gets to around 80 pitches they start teeing off on him lately. We get 2 big insurance runs on a 9 iron tweener and a broken bat infield single. The D'backs hit ropes right at us. That's baseball. Been on the other end at times, also.

This game got me thinking back to something I read not too long ago. In baseball over the course of 162 games there are about 60 you will win and 60 you will lose no matter what strategies come into play, who the players are, who the coaches are.... One team is just better that night for whatever reason, good pitching, most balls finding a hole, bad and good bounces, karma, who knows what it is. It's those other 42 that matter in the strategy and smart baseball thinking that wins those games plus decent depth to overcome injuries and having enough starting pitching to stop a slide. I don't know how to categorize tonight's game. It was just weird.

Really hoping the Reds get a W today. Always feel like there's a good chance with Mat Latos on the mound.

I'm sorry, but as a major league manager, you've gotta know the rules. No excuse not to do the double-switch there.

Huge next 4 games for the Reds. They get Arizona today and the Brewers for 3 while the Cards are playing 4 against Atlanta and the Pirates are in SF for 4.....Can make a serious push this weekend.

To think anyone knows every rule in MLB is ridiculous. He was emotional because he just lost one of his guys, again. Add to that the umpire asking who he wanted. When asked he should've asked for a minute to gather his thoughts. But like he said, as many games as he has managed that is the first time that's happened.

And if you have ever coached a team and had one of your guys get hurt, it takes some time to recover mentally. To all of us, Broxton is one of many pitchers in the organization. To a coach, that's his boy.

Did he make a mistake, absolutely. Am I going to pound on him for it, not under those circumstances.

Choo CF

Frazier 3B

Votto 1B

Phillips 2B

Bruce RF

Ludwick LF

Mesoraco C

Cozart SS

Latos P

This is a game where you need your top pitcher to get it done. Chapman almost surely is out today. The bullpen is a little tired. Latos needs to carry the team to this win.
