Reds @ Brewers August 15th - August 18th

11 HBP

Numbers say he would get 3 hits out of those 11 PAs.

He would walk 1 time.

His OBP would go down 0.015.

He can't hit Clyde. Bottom line he's a weak link offensively. And I posted in this forum that I was all for him getting the shot at 3rd. He has and I think that experiment needs to end.

erase the HBP and how does his OBP change? I know you guys love the stats. They are what they are. But do you sincerely believe he's the answer at third and the 2hole?

Hitting 2nd often requires the ability to move a runner over by hitting behind him on the right side. Last guy you'd pick in a Reds uniform to do that is Frazier. His OBP is up there because he gets plunked at a high rate.

The only Red who can do that as a two hitter is batting clean up. Frazier also is 3rd on the team in walks. That boosts the OBP more than the HBP. I am fine with Frazier hitting #2.

Heartbreaking loss. It will be interesting to see how they bounce back. That's the sort of loss that could define a season.

Over the past 2 or 3 seasons, the Reds have proven that those losses don't bother them. In fact, it usually has the opposite effect. The Reds bounce back very well from these low point moments.

True. I hope they hold form.

I hope they bounce back because I didn't want to lose my thread streak. Not sure a 2-2 split gets it done for me as a thread starter.

MJ you've been the man.

Athletes in all professional sports are basically immune to those types of losses.

They don't have time to dwell. There is another game to be played.

Besides, teams win those kind of games and also lose them several times over the course of a season.

In other words, they don't dwell on the losses like fans do.

Never said he should be in the 2 hole. Just pointing out his OBP wouldnt change much without the 11 HBP.

Not so much last night.

Can't lose a series to this Brewers team. The offense has to get going and be consistent.

Absolutely flawed logic. Hitting 2nd requires getting on base and getting on base only.
