August 19, 201313 yr I think I'd side with SSC on the Frazier issue. He's struck out fewer times than Bruce, Choo or Votto. His OBP is higher than Phillips, and about the same as Bruce. His OBS numbers put him in line with what Brandon has done this year. Does he look bad in certain AB's? Absolutely. But, with all that being said, its just his 2nd year in the league too. And because of that, they're only playing him about a half mil a year. So, barring a blockbuster trade (highly unlikely), or even an outstanding performance by Soto during call-ups/spring training (still unlikely), I think you can go ahead and pencil in Frazier at 3B for next year. There's too many other undecideds elsewhere that will need to be addressed first.
August 19, 201313 yr I'm sorry, but thinking Todd Frazier is the answer at 3B is laughable. I don't care how many sabremetrics you quote to support your argument. Stat heads. Never understood why the eyeball test is never used. Moneyball doesn't work for some guys. But it's whatever.

Cozart is the SS where you expect a light hitter. 1st/2nd/RF/Cather/and CF because Hamilton is going to be there, no longer a question. So, what's the bigger question? LF or Frazier?

I think it's the same people that want human element errors from umps without expanded replay. It's 2013 let the numbers tell the story not the freaking eye test. Even saying that Frazier needs to improve and my guess is he will being that he's in year two of his career.

He's 27 years old, he'll be 28 by next season. He is what he is at this point, and that's extremely average at best.

August 19, 201313 yr Author Doc I think you are due to start a thread. Giving up on me already? The Reds are 9-3 under me starting threads, including a 5-2 road trip. Before I stepped up they had a stint of 3-7. I was hot as a biscuit early in the season, but cooled off. Let's see how MJ fares against the Dbacks. If we don't take 3 against them, I will gladly let some one else start the next.
