August 16, 201313 yr Most likely, you're right. If they do bring Arroyo back (which is doubtful), then I think Bailey is gone. You can never have too much pitching. 6 guys worthy of 5 spots is not a problem, in my opinion. As much as I like Bronson, Bronson is about to get PAID. I'd throw money at Choo before Bronson at this point and hope for a Choo/Hamilton/Bruce OF eventually. If they were to keep Bronson then I would say Bailey becomes trade bait either in the offseason or at the deadline next year. One additional thing you have to consider as well is that Stephenson is coming on like crazy in the minors. He might not make it next year, but can't see it being too much longer after that that he gets a call if he avoids injury. He is rated over Hamilton in some rankings as our top prospect at this point.
August 16, 201313 yr Choo- 8 Heisey- 7 Votto- 3 Phillips- 4 Bruce- 9 Frazier- 5 Mesoraco- 2 Cozart- 6 Leake- 1
August 17, 201313 yr Good guys strike early--Frazier with a 2-out, 2-run single in the top of the first.
August 17, 201313 yr Author Fraizer having a good game tonight. Need to get the good guys back on top though. They have a chance to pass the Cardinals by half a game.
August 17, 201313 yr Brewers really hit Leake hard in the 3rd. Good to see Frazier hitting well this game.
August 17, 201313 yr Heisey with an absolute bomb, a two-run shot to left-center, giving the good guys a 5-4 lead. Top 5.
August 17, 201313 yr Here's my theory on how to improve the club. Say goodbye to WBP. Say goodbye to Choo. Extend Latos. Shop Bailey and Cueto. Keep one or the other. Cingrani is a boss. He's a fixture right behind Latos. Lead Votto off. Look at his #s and without the name at the top you'd never know he wasn't a table setter. OBP says so alone plus you get him 30 more ABs a season. Let BP hit 3rd orgo get one in FA. Money freed up from the departures. Send Frazure and a dozen balls to anyone for a moderate prospect. Get Hamilton up here. The rest is dressing.

You're allowed to take the dental grade stuff home for the weekend???
August 17, 201313 yr You're allowed to take the dental grade stuff home for the weekend??? Come on. You know WBP is out. Cueto is a giant question mark. Homer could be a nice piece of trade bait. They're not gonna pay Choo. Votto is autistic and can't drive in runs. Where am I wrong?

Where am I wrong? So you have 3 of the 6 starters on the outs? You can't be that high even off the dental grade stuff. WBP is gone, and that is fine. From there you have 5 really solid to top of the rotation guys to roll with for 2014. Why in the hell would you mess with that when it has taken the better part of a decade to develop? Votto is a 2 or 3 hole hitter. Leadoff? :lol2: Still not sold on Hamilton even though he has shown signs of life lately. That said Choo isn't coming back and he is probably the best bet to take over both in CF and at leadoff. Like it or not, this roster is already pretty much set for next year with WBP and Choo gone and Cingrani and Hamilton taking over. The rest is semantics...
August 17, 201313 yr 3rd base is a giant black hole. If Cueto is healthy I agree with you about the 5. Meso is the man behind the dish. Votto won't lead off. I think he should. If people are happy with Choo there Votto would be virtually the same, only better. They have to have another middle of the order bat. Preferably one that plays 3rd or LF. Bailey may be a key in acquiring one and I'd pull that trigger if it was that type guy. Heck, I'm not opposed to the Chapman starting prospect. Or starting LeCure for that matter.
