If he learned to throw that slider so it breaks below the strike zone, he would be unhittable. If he learned how to elevate his fastball and move it around, unhittable. He has no location ability.

August 17, 201313 yr Which one did you quote? Hanigan or Frazier? Frazier is 3rd on the team in OBP. He has been somewhat disappointing no doubt but let's not pretend he's absolutely terrible when the only two players on base more than him are Votto and Choo. Choo is gone next year so he'll be the 2nd best returning on base guy next year. Votto should hit 2nd but since he won't TF should.

August 17, 201313 yr No one is pretending. He's awful. He can't reach a pitch on the outer half without flailing at it. His rearend flies away from the plate. Only success he can have is on the inner half. See last night as a reference.

Curious, were you on the side of Chapman closing or starting?
August 17, 201313 yr Was that 5 appearances in 6 days? Yes. 7 HRs in 49 innings given up this year. Gave up 4 in 68 innings last year.
August 17, 201313 yr Hitting 2nd often requires the ability to move a runner over by hitting behind him on the right side. Last guy you'd pick in a Reds uniform to do that is Frazier. His OBP is up there because he gets plunked at a high rate.

His OBP is up there because he gets plunked at a high rate. 11 HBP Numbers say he would get 3 hits out of those 11 PAs. He would walk 1 time. His OBP would go down 0.015.
