George Zimmerman Speeding, Pulled Over With Gun In Car

Featured Replies

Less than a month after being acquitted of second-degree murder charges related to his killing of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman was reportedly caught speeding Wednesday, with a gun in the glove compartment of his vehicle. The incident took place in the town of Forney, Tex., TMZ reports.

Zimmerman, who informed police that the weapon was in the car shortly after being pulled over, was asked where he was going, to which he responded, "nowhere in particular," according to the site.

CBS News reports that, during the traffic stop, which occurred at 12:54 p.m., Zimmerman also asked the officer if he recognized him from television.

George better be careful...

If I was him, I would have a gun with me at all times.

After the threats he has received, I would have a gun also. He is also legal to carry so no big deal. Informed officer right away like he was supposed to.

Guy with CCL has gun. Shocking.

In other news, person with driving license drives car.

Is everything this guy does going to be news from here on out? I feel bad for him, and I would definitely be an owner of a gun as well with everything that continually comes his way...ridiculous.

I agree the man should be armed at all times. My point is he needs to keep a low profile and that includes obeying all traffic laws.

It doesn't say how fast he was going & the stop occurred shortly before 1:00 pm.

Much ado about nothing.

I think he's being profiled.

This was the third lead story on the Today Show this morning. Really, cannot make this up.

Apparently the cop is being investigated for taking a pic

It's the most recognizable iPhone sound on the planet -- the camera shutter -- and now it's biting one Texas cop in the butt ... after he apparently snapped a sneaky iPhone photo during the George Zimmerman traffic stop this weekend.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the officer who pulled Zimmerman over for speeding on Sunday is currently under investigation after dash cam footage revealed he took an iPhone picture during the stop ... at least that's the way it sounds.

You can plainly hear the telltale sound in the video -- followed by the "unlock" sound and typing iPhone keys. You'll hear it 29 seconds into the video.

It's unclear what photo the officer snapped -- or if he sent it to anyone -- but if he took a pic of Zimmerman's driver's license for personal use ... he could be in trouble.

We're told the officer in question is off duty today, and investigators are currently trying to get in touch with him.

Good God why is this news.

Unfortunately anything he does will be news for the next few months because when people hear his name, they take notice, hence this thread .

Zimmerman's wife has filed for divorce.
