Losers always make excuses.

I can tell that by reading the Track the Reds threads over the years. If the Red Sox and Reds both make it that far there will be no excuses from me.

Diving into Vottos deficiency down 2 strikes:

AB H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K BA OBP SLG OPS

0-2 31 6 1 0 0 1 0 19 .194 .194 .226 .419

1-2 49 7 0 0 0 0 0 26 .143 .160 .143 .303

2-2 58 12 3 0 0 2 0 21 .207 .220 .259 .479

3-2 48 9 2 1 1 4 27 17 .188 .468 .333 .801

And I was bashed saying Craig should be considered as good as Votto

The guy from KC that got a hit last night was the first Royal to get a base hit in an ASG since...

...Bo Jackson.

Normally I care about the All-Star Game but I think I may have only watched 3 pitches yesterday.

I watched the 8th and 9th innings. Wanted to see Rivera pitch.

Votto hardly ever gets a double down 2 strikes, Cabrera makes it look easy

Yep, easy as pie.

Miggy in his career 0-2 - .213 .216 .362 .578

Votto - .205 .207 .283 .490

Wow that is a very long time

Cabrera this year:

AB H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K AVG OBP SLG OPS

0-2: 32 4 1 0 0 3 0 14 .125 .152 .156 .308

1-2: 54 17 4 0 3 9 0 18 .315 .315 .556 .870

2-2: 44 12 0 0 5 12 0 19 .273 .289 .614 .903

3-2: 32 9 1 0 3 8 24 13 .281 .589 .594 1.183

Those are this seasons numbers, with Votto those were this seasons numbers as well. Votto IMO is the most frustrating player on the Reds. He should be putting up these numbers the way he is payed.

It isn't fair comparing Votto, or anyone else, to Cabrerra this season. How do Votto's numbers compare to Allen Craig, since his name was mentioned as being better than Votto? Or pick another higher paid first baseman .... Ryan Howard? Adrian Gonzalez? Prince Fielder might be a good one since he also is an all star.

Didn't say Craig was better but said he should be mentioned with Votto as a top 1st baseman this year

Yes, he should be. I take Paul Goldschmidt over both of them this year.

Votto is taking some bashing but really the only number that is low for him is RBI and he is hitting behind Cozart so we know why the RBI's are low.

Craigs are about the same Average wise except for when hes 3-2 where hes hitting .367... his power numbers are better too

Howard- hes a bum, but average wise is fairly close to Votto in BA

Gonzalez- Better than Votto in every category when down 2 strikes. Hes doesnt blow him out of the water but hes about 20-30 points better give or take.

Fielder- Better in every category except hes hitting .133 when its 1-2... But hits .321 0-2... he also has 10 less K's than Votto this whole season

But hey, Votto knows how to walk

His slugging pct this yr is tied with his career low. And he's on pace for his career record in K's

Hes already had more AB's with runner in scoring position than he did all of last year, so he should have more RBI's than last year
