First Visit To Ruth's Chris

Featured Replies

I'm taking my wife to Ruth's Chris tomorrow night for our anniversary. It will be our first trip to this steakhouse and one we have wanted to take for some time.

What should we expect? Any menu advice?

Expect a very professional server. Wonderful steaks and chicken. Very good sides. A near 2 hour experience and probably $150 with wine and dessert. Second only to Jeff Ruby's in my opinion.

Took my wife on our 20th in Destin, we've been twice since then (Indy and DC.) I get the filet butterflied and all steaks are served on plates sizzling with melted butter. Be careful the plates are VERY hot.

Very nice restaurant, so leave your overalls at home...:lol2:

I looked at the menu online today. I'm normally a ribeye man and I may get that. My wife will likely get the fillet.

What about the porterhouse for 2? Anyone ever try that?

I'm glad someone recommended the sweet potatoes. I love them and will try that and maybe the asparagus.

Your wife will be VERY happy with the filet!

Is it worth $150 for two? Never have eaten at one.

YES!!! It's worth it.

Can run a little less if you don't have wine or alcohol.

Wife and I usually in and out for around $100

A Facebook friend of mine went tonight with his wife for their Anniversary and he said it was the best steak he has ever had in his life.

I'm thinking #fatjason will be there at some point.

To be honest I hadn't really thought about it. As the old song goes "When it comes to love, you don't count the cost" :)

Worth it is a subjective term. It depends upon your motivation I suppose and each person has their own level of comfort when it comes to cost.

In this particular instance, the cost just isn't one of my top concerns. I will be celebrating with the love of my life all the years we have shared together. She is my best friend and my life's companion. I know I can be a scoundrel to live with sometimes but she is a blessing to me in every sense of the word.

She is the focus of my evening and I am not sure about the meal but I know for certain that she is definitely worth it.

If you eat your steaks Med Well or Well do not go. You'll be better off at a Texas Roadhouse for the money.

The ribeye is my choice whenever I go. Great steak. Save room for desert. The creme brule is awesome.

Which one are you going/did you go to?

I've never been.

Son went to the one in Nashville several years ago. Said it was very good, but he became a vegetarian soon afterward. I'm pretty sure that there was no cause-and-effect.
