Wade would have to score 40 the next two games and LeBron 20 or less for that to even be possible. JMO, of course. Wade has been the Heat's best player the past two games easily. If he finishes the series being their best player for the final 4 games (3 of which would be victories), you would have to give it to Wade I believe.

June 17, 201313 yr Mike & Mike said it best this morning....If someone turned on Game 5 who wasn't a basketball fan or in tune with who LeBron is, they wouldn't have walked away thinking they watched the best player in the game. That's the issue with his legacy. Win or lose, that has never been the case with Kobe, MJ, Bird, Magic, etc.

They've played 5 is my only counter, and he wasn't the best in those other 3. And whose to say Lebron won't step up big time these last 2 games.

To assume he's going to get that number on the back half of his career is a little naive. JMO. MJ had 5 of his 6 rings at the 10 year mark. Kobe had all 5 of his also within the first 10 years. LeBron is FAR behind, if we're just talking about rings. That doesn't even include the other greats of the NBA.
June 17, 201313 yr Author Given today's talent being spread amongst more teams, I am not sure you can draw a direct parallel between those you mentioned. Jordan would be the closest and I will never believe that Pippen was as good as his reputation... at least not on the level on Dwayne Wade. I think people forget how good Wade is. When healthy and rolling I think he is the most devastating player in the NBA. Every person thinks of the Chris Bosh of today, but the dude is still All Pro caliber and averaged 24 and 11 the season before coming to South Beach. That is impressive. Magic had Kareem at the end of his career but that was Magic's show but I will give you that one. Bird, some solid talent but not on the Dwayne Wade level. In the 80s there were also about 10 less teams so the opposition theoretically should have been better. I think he is saying teaming up with two all pro caliber players his unheard of. Especially when you are already considered the best. Teaming up with All Pros when you are considered the best is unheard of. My only point is that no one won by themselves. Nobody can name one team that won a title that was carried by one person. That is unheard of also.

He won two and is now mentioned favorably with Montana who won more. James wins a couple more and he's in the conversation.

James wins a couple more and he's in the conversation. I do agree with this logic. I agree that 3 or 4 rings for Lebron gets him into the conversation even with Jordan's 6 and Kobe's 5. The thing is he needs to win this one bad, starting out 1-3 in his first four finals will leave a bad mark even if he does eventually win a couple more.
