I can't see this Miami team, as currently constructed, making the Finals again after this season, so if he stays in Miami, he may end his career with just the one ring....One ring does not a legacy make. He'll still have a legacy. Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing have legacies and they have a combined 0 rings. He's not going to finish his career in Miami.....unless they unload Wade and Bosh and build the team around Lebron.

John Stockton, Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Allen Iverson, Patrick Ewing, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Reggie Miller...the list goes on and on about great players who didn't win it when they got there or simply didn't even get there. Lebron will easily go down as one of the top 15 players of all time and I'd take him over just about eveyone I mentioned in this post and his rings have nothing to do with that decision.

The legacy hit will come because people for years have been wanting to crown James as the greatest player of all time... Even before he won a title. You can pour sand over the first appearance with Cleveland. Many people will excuse the Dallas debacle. I won't. But people feel that he can resurcrect things from here and surpass whomever on the GOAT list. With another NBA Finals loss - which would be the second time he would lose being a prohibitive favorite - he may not make the cut no matter what he does.

As a Kobe guy I strongly feel his legacy should take a hit if he loses this season. As much crap as Kobe/Kobe supporters have had to take over the last 17 years I'd only entertain Lebron being better than Kobe IF and I mean IF he gets to 5 titles. I am guilty of crowning Lebron as the best player ever prematurely simply because he does things I haven't seen anyone do on the court. It bugs the crap out of me that with all of his talent that he doesn't have that Kobe/MJ gene to just destroy everything in his path. He's the most talented player I have ever seen. But he's not better than Kobe and in 2013 I don't think he ever will be.

June 13, 201313 yr Gotta give Pop some credit, he is without a doubt the best coach in the NBA right now and maybe the most underrated of all time. Adjustment to back off of everyone and let them shoot jumpers devastated the Heat in game 3, James and entire team seemed to be in a funk.
