Never have I seen so many scandals/problems under the command of a president.

 

Not making light, but I'd say there are about 40 men who lived from about 1780-1990 who are super glad the Internet didn't exist when they held the job!

 

That doesn't make Obama a saint, just rather makes us more aware of every bit of minutiae, which then gets blown up. Imagine if Reagan, or Nixon, or Roosevelt had worked during a time of Twitter and 24-7 media. We'd all have been calling for their ouster, too. But their sins became known much later while current presidential sins are known nearly before they are even committed.

This has more to do with it than anything else. That and the Republican Party's inability to relate to anyone who isn't a straight white man is killing them.

 

The Republicans lost the woman vote, the black vote, the Hispanic-American vote(illegals too for that matter...) and the gay vote. If they could have just pulled in just one of those groups they win the election.

Why is everything and everybody divided up into groups? Not picking on you, but it is a legit question to everyone here. That line of thinking is one reason we, as a country are destroying itself from within. I do not consider myself as part of a "group". Whatever happened to rugged individualism? That is a term that everyone should want to identify with, I would think.

Most of them, like Kennedy, would never have been elected in the first place let alone be subject to calls for their removal.

I have faith that they will do the same for 2016, they won't change and will take even a bitter beating.

I'm not a fan of the President. Didn't vote for him, wouldn't vote for him, etc. But America did vote for him twice, either because they prefer his viewpoints or because the Republicans run lousy candidates or a combination of the two. If he's as bad as some make him out to be, America will hand the oval office back to the opposing party in 2016 as was done with George W. Bush.

Nah, it wasn't the Hispanic nor the Black vote that won it for the Dems, those votes were not too much above normal as those populations don't usually vote in large numbers. It was the under 30 vote who turned out in large numbers. Neither Biden nor Hillary will be able to pull them out like Obama did, particularly after they see that nothing has really changed in how Washington works.

Presient Obama will leave office on January 20, 2017 when President Clinton is sworn in to take his place.

Agree with your analysis. Not sure, though, that the GOP can do much to "recapture" any of the non-white blocs. National elections have become all about changing demographics -- fewer white voters, more minority voters.

In a perfect world there wouldn't be groups or division. We'd all be one. Unfortunately in today's society each group gravitates to the candidate that will push their agenda. Also unfortunately each group is being duped into believing that the candidate will push their agenda. I don't even think candidates need to push any group's agenda, just have some sensitivity towards their plight and that is a plus. I feel like the Republicans have no sensitivity and thus lose their ability to relate to everyone. A little sensitivity can go a long way IMO.

Hispanics come from so many different countries and many have been here for years and years so they're a very diverse voting bloc. The one thing that really seems to unify them in a way no other issue does is immigration reform which Republicans have refused to budge on. That's a problem for the GOP as far as this goes.

Actually, there have been studies that both Hispanics and Blacks have more Republican viewpoints than Democrat. People forget that this is still very much a conservative country. The deal is that the Hispanics and the Blacks do not vote in force. If the youth vote had been average last November we very well could have had a different result. Getting them energized again by the two leading contenders for the Dems after nothing in Washington really changing, Obamacare kicking in, and dealing with all the scandals just isn't going to happen IMO.
