Come on man, a child CAN NOT consent to having sex with an adult. The burden is on the adult. What if this child was 12 and coerced into a sexual encounter with an 18 year old?

 

By the way, when I was a senior I was dating 21 year olds. Just saying.

My wife of 16 years and girlfriend of 24 years is 4 years younger than me and we dated when I was a Sr in High School. Our oldest child is 13 and my wife graduated from Miami University with a finance major. It sounds to me like the parents are just pissed they found out their little girl is a lesbian. Age shouldn't and wasn't an issue in our relationship!

 

Let me add that there is a big difference in dating and being sexually active. This old dog put in a lot of overtime during our younger years! The wait was well worth it!...LOL!

Like I said earlier I think the law needs some changing. But I also find many of you to be silly to act like the parents are in the wrong. No one is arguing that the law wasn't broken, because the law was broken. This isn't a manipulation of the law, the law was broken. It is that simple. The intent of the parents is irrelevant. If you don't want to get in trouble respect the wishes of the parents. As long as the daughter is under 18 she is under complete control of the parents.

 

Now could the parents actions affect their relationship with their daughter, probably. I'm also torn if a 14 year old is mature enough to make some these decisions without the guidance of their parents. 14 is 14, and man or woman if you are going to far with my daughter your not going to be welcome at my house and I think you broke the law why wouldn't I report it.

The only question is was the law broken. If the law was broken I have no problem with the parents complaint. If you are asking me should the law be changed or tweaked again I would agree with that.

Unless she gets pregnant and wants and abortion but that's a whole 'nother debate.
