May 18, 201313 yr I'd spend probably 10 million off the bat. I'd buy 100 mill in real estate/stocks and bank the rest.
May 18, 201313 yr If it was just $500K: Pay off my student loans, buy a new truck or car and pay off any outstanding notes my parents have, and make a nice donation toward my nephew's college fund. Then I'd buy a downtown Bardstown building and set up a restaurant/club downstairs and a pad for me upstairs. Would like to set up a rooftop garden and BBQ pit along with it, including a dumbwaiter system. Then I'd go record shopping and vintage stereo equipment hunting. If it were a big jackpot, I would do all of the above and take a very long vacation, then set up several long-term charitable foundations to fund scholarships at NKU and a few select high schools, as well as write nice checks for Kentucky's public radio stations. Trust funds and completing the college fund for the nephew would also be on the agenda, and I would write some nice checks to several family members for other educational needs for their children. Might see about starting up a radio station. Then I'd invest everything else after paying off any outstanding notes for my brother and his wife. Would definitely have real estate and historical building rehabilitation as part of my investment plan.
May 18, 201313 yr I would not tell anyone, but I would take care of my family and a few select people.
May 18, 201313 yr Honestly I'd go to work and take my entire department out for an entire weekend, probably like a 4 or 5 day weekend. We're talking about 70 people or so but we'd do it up big with a private jet and do it right hitting up NY, Vegas, Miami. LA. After that I bid them fair well and start looking for property in a few different states. Pay off the parents houses and let the good times roll.

May 18, 201313 yr Give the vast majority away. Build a nice house, maybe $1 million spent on that. Upgrade vehicles. Take that sightseeing trip out west I've always wanted to take. Buy season tickets for UK basketball. That's all I can really think of. Of course, there's a chance I would selfishly spend all of it on me.

May 18, 201313 yr Buy a million dollar condo in Destin Fl at the Emerald Grande...Buy a new laptop,a Thorens Td 124 turntable with two mono block McIntosh tube amps. That's about it.
May 18, 201313 yr Take the family to Disney World and pay for handicapped guides so we can be first in line! :lol2:
May 18, 201313 yr Author Would definitely give most away. Anonymously. Take care of family members, some college funds, pay off some bills, upgrade home and vehicles, keep a nest for security, maybe a small amount of travel. Really like the thought of what could be done with the "give away" portion.
