May 17, 201313 yr Nappy Roots was at WKU while I was there. I had classes with Ron in the graphic design department and use to see them at kinkos putting together their CDs. I had no idea Mike Doiughty was from ky. Where? I lived Soul Coughing and his solo stuff. Joan Osborne is best know for her song "If God was one of us" Doughty was a military brat born at Ft. Knox.

Lexington native Richard Hell was a punk-rock pioneer with bands Television and Richard Hell and the Voidoids Vilebillies There's a new group out of Louisville called Houndmouth that I've enjoyed Nerves Jr. Of course, who could forget the Velcro Pygmies? Wow, did not know that.

May 17, 201313 yr Houndmouth is actually from New Albany. Know a couple of the guys in the band. But there are so damn good I don't mind claiming them. I first heard of them in a story in the Highlander about them setting up shop in NA, but I think most of the members are from Ky.
May 17, 201313 yr Charlie Crowe from Versailles Ky was a guitarist with Brooks n Dunn for 12 years and is now playin with Kix Brooks after a stint with Chris Cagle. He has rock n roll roots though, playin with a regional band from the 80's Tangent, that is based out of Frankfort.

May 19, 201313 yr Cef Michael Band lead singer from Independence currently lives in Nashville. On the road playing in Vegas and California this week. They play at all the Toby Keith bars.
