I am going to guess Harrison County is homecoming, but not certain. What is going on with the first game of the year. I have heard some things, but seen nothing posted on here.

First game of the year will be played on Friday, August 23rd at 7p.m. At DCM.

Going to defend '91 on this one. He has as much personal experience in the recruiting game as anyone on this board when it comes to being recruited as an athlete. Disagree w/ his view on Collinsworth, but you can't call him ignorant to the system.

 

He is wrong on Collinsworth. I think most of us can agree on that.

 

Things have likely changed a bit since his recruiting days. He is letting his emotions get the best of him re this potential/past rivalry. He has made inflammatory and egregious/aggressive, potentially threatening, remarks about the HHS fan base (nothing new, many have done this and some is deserved). But, based on this "experience", and the fact that he has a kid on the NCC team, that he is marketing (see many of his/others previous posts), you can figure out who he is... you would think he would be a bit more selective with his public analysis/comments, particularly when talking about kids, or even men in Collinsworths case. I am sure he wouldn't want someone bashing his kid on a public message board such as this. JMO, but it doesn't play well, not only in the HHS fan base, but many in the NCC fan base have an issue as well. Just my two cents. Best to both teams, and all of the players, this coming season.

Any word on whether this game will be on TV (ESPN)? There was some early talk that it would be televised.

I said the same thing in this thread. I don't agree w/ '91s approach. I was just saying that he isn't ignorant when it comes to being recruited, and it has nothing to do with who is on NCC's team.

He's got decent career stats, but may be a better evaluator of lineman than the skill guys. Collinsworth stood out every week regardless of the opponent. Definitely was D1 talent.

I never said the collinsworth kid wasn't a good football player, I simply said he was not major D1 talent. I simply said, if his last name was smith, he doesn't end up at Norte dame. I watched the kid play and saw game film. I personally feel he wasn't as good a football player as Brady hightchew, but it is what it is. Being a cpl inches taller and having Chris collinsworth as your dad helps a ton. Now, with that being said, that doesn't mean he can't become a solid player for Norte dame as most kids will get bigger, faster, stronger in their first couple of years in college.

 

I really don't know how much more informed I need to be.

Here's a bombshell for you HHS people as well....collinsworth would have been the third RB in 10 for NCC behind cane and Kelly. Also, he wouldn't have beaten Hayes out.

I don't know about the rest of you but he cracks me up. Kind of like the little brother mouthing off as long as he knows he doesn't have to back it up.
