Mex you made several references to the '10 team for NCC being able to compete etc. You also said more than five from NCC would have started for H that year. Remember H was pretty good that year as well. Who would have started and in place of whom? What do you think that game would have looked like had it been played?

I'm correct. Let's not let facts get in the way of wishful thinking. 2009 was at Beechwood. Highlands crushed them there too. In 2010 at Highlands it was 30-0 end of 1st. Dale called of the dogs and didn't let the score get too bad out of respect for Beechwood. That same Beechwood team beat your vaunted 2010 NCC team. Highlands was undefeated state champions in 2007 too. Now 6 years later NCC could compete? NO WAY.

 

On a good year for NCC, Highlands would beat them by 40. You guys better listen to Lawnboy on this one. He comes to a few Highlands games and has seen Highlands destroy teams that are a lot better than what NCC can ever put on the field.

 

Years ago I wanted to see the game. Now I'd rather watch Highlands play somebody decent. The only thing that makes me want the game are some of the delusional NCC faithful. NCC is better served playing the teams they currently play. I'd rather see Highlands play a few more Ohio teams.

 

If you were at the Beechwood game, you would have seen NewCath's flattest performance of the year. They were down by 17 before they realized that Beechwood wanted the game more than they did. They had 7 turnovers vs Ryle in their 3rd game w/ the new offense. NewCath also outgained CovCath by 250+ yards that year. Highlands split w/ Ryle and beat CovCath by 7 the first time that they played. They would have been competitive. I don't believe that anyone from NewCath would say that '07 was going to be one of those great games. NewCath had a lot of trouble w/ Ft. Campbell's speed that year. Highlands would have been an even bigger issue. '05 was what we said.

So the argument for NCC is they might sneak one in every once in a blue moon.. might. I dk pretty weak aarguement for saying the teams should play. Highlands should beat NCC anyway. Larger enrollment and more athletes play. Sure I would like to see it, but does it make sense? I still wish they did because we wouldn't have these debates.

Do it when you have a really good group so that the game is competitive and both teams can take something away from it.

B/c the '10 Birds were a screen and vertical passing team. Towles had a much better deep ball than Brady, was extremely effective running (5 rushing TDs in the 1st half of the state championship game) and was just a better QB. Brady would have been a WR or DB.

So are you saying that HHS should drop the 2014 Elder matchup between the 2 in Ft Thomas since HHS won't be as strong. That would be kind of picking and chooses wouldn't you say. I guess Dale needs to tell Univ Christian not to bother with coming back to Ft Thomas in 2014 as well. I guess that's what you are saying! Not that I don't agree to some sort, but that is what HHS will be facing in 2014 again. Who knows?
