Karolina Diamonds got 2nd at Nationals last year losing in the Championship Games to the Dunk Dogs. Both teams now play up 17U.

Ok, now I know who you are referring to. Saw them play in Orlando last tear. Team Penny knocked us out (HD 14U last year), then lost to them their next game.

 

If that's the case, Team Penny should be playing up as well. They were every bit as good. In fact, one of the parents said Penny had beaten either them or the Dunk Dogs a couple of weeks prior to win a tournament. All 3 were very, very good. Had size that most teams couldn't match up with.

I'm intrigued. I'm hearing it's not set in stone and that Hall and Ndahiro are both unlikely to play. Is Maxey coaching this group since the names appear to be from last year's Hoop Dreams-Maxey team?

Maxey does as much for kids as anybody I know. Like him or not his only goal is to help kids get to college. I will be helping him coach the new team. Nothing is ever set in stone in AAU basketball but I guarantee we will have a good team. Still a little early to say who is gonna be on team. The only person who knows anything for sure about the team is Maxey. Anything else is speculation.
