Ky State AAU Tournament

Chris Hudson. He is a man!!

Do you know if he has any offers?

You seem to be in the loop with knowing a lot about multiple kids. You work for a recruiting service or cover basketball for a publication? Just curious.

TBC Elite finished the AAU State in the semifinals. Pool play they defeated HLB and a very good WKY Sonics team. In tournament play they defeated the KY Players and the Louisville Magic before falling to the KY Heat by one in OT. Their guard play makes them tough to press as they don't turn the ball over much and their big guys MORE than held their own each game. This team has several guys worth watching in the future. I think its a heck of an accomplishment for a team that has only been around 1 full season to make the Final Four of state. 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th regions all represented by this program.

One thought on the officials. I seemed to notice more "missed or bad" call on Sunday vs Saturday. On Sunday, they were running 3 man crews vs 2 on Saturday.

For my ref experts on here, is it possible to "miss" more calls on a 3 man crew? Perhaps, because you think someone else has the call. It may have been concidence but it sure seemed that way.

Also, I noticed that many of the refs were working 6-7 games in a row. That may work at the younger ages but at the high school level, I think the game is too fast for that.

I will have to agree with you. I thought Friday and Saturday games were very well officiated and Sunday was suspect at times.

He has a Wright State offer and Tennessee Tech will likely offer them when they see him in July.

See any up and coming sophs (or fresh) at state that haven't been on the radar but that you feel will make a name for themselves?

Well that explains it! Thanks for the info!

I'll mention a couple on here that most nobody has said.

I've been on this kid for a while as he plays at my alma mater. 2016 F Kevin Kirby (Waggener) showed the complete package as a 3 in the championship game for KY Heat yesterday, grabbed 20 boards and played with a lot of energy.

The other kid is 6'4 2016 G Eli Wright of Apollo the kid has all the physical tools and has improved a good bit since I last saw him in late January. Was seemingly the best player on the court in the 4th quarter for the WKY Sonics when they played Hoop Dreams 15s. He is a kid who needs to be mentioned with Braxton, Q, Malik and Carson

Good list! Not familiar with Wright. Sounds like three guards and three interior players?

I was able to take in some of the 15U and 16U games there this weekend. Tried to watch some of the teams said to be the better teams, and saw several (other) nice players that I feel have college potential assuming they continue to develop. Some of those don't appear to as "matured" as those mentioned above so they are not there just yet.

Dre Jackson is a kid who has only lived in Ky for a year. He plays for the Bulldogs and can flat play. Mitch Bolin is 6'7 and if he continues to progress his game, he will make noise in the next 2 years. Matt Mullins is a 6'3 player from SK who boards like no other and has a nice midrange game. He went for 14/20rebs in one game.

I think KBA would have made some more cash if they sold programs. I heard people all weekend trying to figure out who players were and where they attend high school. I agree that the reffing went down hill on Sunday for whatever reason. Maybe it was just more noticeable as the games got closer and more important. Did anyone else find it odd that the Manimal vs Magic pool game on Friday had a 3 man crew and the other pool games or at least the ones I saw only had 2?

Carson Williams (Owen Co.)...learn that name. Kid is a beast:

Will Hager (Mercer Co) with the assist.

WOW...Remind me to never sit by you at a game.

You already know every rule, or do you prefer to go the ignorance is bliss route???

The portion of my post you bolded was pertaining to rules. Notice you didn't bold that part. I guess rules shouldn't get in the way of a fan thinking they know more than the officials though.

I am not claiming to all the rules. My point was that I prefer not to sit by someone that corrects people around them when they are upset about a call. It is rather annoying. No one wants to sit by that guy.

Sounds about as annoying as people who scream at the refs and don't know the rules.
