This isn't intended to be personal to you TH, but a response to what seems to be the overwhelming general thought these days. What makes those who criticize officials think they are qualified to do so? The old standby's of "I've been watching basketball a long time," or "I was a pretty good player." really don't cut it.

I've watched a lot of COPS reruns over the years, does that qualify me to be a shift supervisor?

I have no problem with what I bolded from you, if the credentials to make such observations are there. Far too often they are not, and again that's nothing personal as for all I know you've officiated NCAA final fours. lol.

You have no idea how many times I've corrected someone sitting near me in the stands who goes nuts over a call, without even knowing the actual rule of the call. I get the normal "oh, really? I didn't know that." and then on the next whistle they go nuts again. Really?

WOW...Remind me to never sit by you at a game.

That's all I am saying. I'm with you 100% and it is not meant as a slight to anyone.

Jordan Fox is still a member of Hoop Dreams. As we all know emotions can be high immediately after a game. I'm glad that rational and logical thought entered the picture before a quick and hurried decision is made. Jordan has no issues with any of the coaches that are a part of Hoop Dreams.

What is the roster of the Kentucky Heat 15u? They must be one heck of a team.

Full roster can be looked at on my site.

But I'll post it here:

Kevin Kirby (Waggener)

Isiah Knight (Trinity)

Tyler Green (Male)

Connor Knight (St. Xavier)

Will Olson (St. Xavier)

Matt Miller (John Hardin)

Jon Henry (North Oldham)

Marquis McClendon (Manual)

Christian Terry (Trinity)

Prince Michael-Sammons (Cincinnati Christen Hills (OH))

Austin Brian (St. Xavier)

Blake Southerland (North Oldham)

They were missing Matt Miller (starting PG) and Prince this weekend. They had an 8th grader from North as well named Titus something. Coached by Tim Barnett.

I'm extremely high on Kevin Kirby, he had 20 boards in the championship game and is developing into a very nice player

Good to hear!!!

The Shining Stars 17U group made it to the finals. Tanner Moeves, Landon Lamblez, Mark Schult, Jake Schulte, and others all played their butts off this weekend. Really like Moeves' game and really thought Schulte did a solid job! NCC will be TOUGH next year. Weyer for TBC Elite is a major problem! This kid is tough as nails and will wear you out. Can't wait to see him play in the 9th.

Missed the Shining Stars 16U group. Where were they? I know they lost Macdonald, but had a solid team around him last year.

Love watching the No. Ky boys play. Someone said the Kentucky Select teams squared off, any idea who won that?

All that being said, Carson Williams and Malik Dow had some nice dunks. Perry Ayers for Team Manimal is a player, as is Jared Farris of Manimal, young man is big and strong.

The KY Select 9th grade team edged out a win vs. the Kentucky Select 8th grade team. Not sure how they did afterwards but overall a good showing it appears from the NKY teams.

The NKY Bulldogs - U15 group had a solid performance this weekend. They finished 3 - 2 on the weekend and advanced to the Elite 8 losing to the KY Heat. They had wins against Derby City Elite, KY Select Hawkins, and Bluegrass Sonics. Who by the way had an excellent shooter in Harrison Lane. This kid can stroke it from anywhere. The NKY Bulldogs only two loses were to KY Elite by 9 and KY Heat by 11. This game was actually a lot closer than the score represented. Late fouling added to the score. My hat goes off to the KY Heat for finding ways to win. I posed the question before the tournament about the division of talent at the U15 level and after this weekend, I feel that this age group is loaded. Any one of the elite 8 teams could had won this tournament. Congrats to all of the teams and the KBA for a great weekend of basketball.

I agree with bolded. I saw the Travelers and Shinning Stars go at each other. Funny watching Schulte and McDonald battle against each other. Moeves, if he does go to NCC, will be a nice addition. I thought Schult looked good too. The court next to them had the Jazz playing. Brossarts bigs looked very good. Burns was going up against some really big kid from Hoops dreams and doing a good job. Trentman was playing above the rim and looked like he had more than a handful of points. Noble and Holbrook appeared to have a nice game as well. Saw the Bulldogs in action too. They have some nice players. No really big kids, but decent size and fairly athletic. They should all be solid contributors to their HS teams next season. Nice crowd on hand at the KBA.

Glad to hear that.

Does anyone have a roster for Hoops Dreams? I'd hate to coach that team. Loaded with talent and it would hard to have to make the call of who to play.
