May 4, 201313 yr That is pretty bad. I'm sure like many of us Kobe would prefer to keep his gear from high school, I know I did and I'm not even in the same universe as Kobe. It doesn't matter what level of sports you make it to, you'll always cherish your younger days. I would believe Kobe left the items in his parents possession so they could hold and cherish them as well, probably never thought they would turn around and hock them for cash years later.

She wants the money for a $450,000 house, Kobe offered to buy them a house but she wanted a bigger house, Kobe offered $250,000 but she refused and said she wanted the whole $450,000. Kobe said he has given millions of dollars to his parents over his NBA career. Read that he doesn't really get along with his parents much anyway.

I believe he has had a strained relationship with his parents ever since he married Vanessa. They never liked her and felt she was a golddigger. How ironic.

But in the off chance that he did say he didn't care what they did with it he can't complain when they try to sell it. We are in total agreement, they are clowns either way. They have been given millions already and he offered $250K for a house.
May 8, 201313 yr I'm siding with Kobe, but let me pose this question... Were they really Kobe's possessions? He was probably under the age of 18 at the time (if we are strictly talking high school material). He probably didn't pay for the bball shoes, jerseys or whatever it maybe be. The parents might not have either, but they probably had to pay school fees or something like that. Either way, were they really Kobe's possessions? Whether he said, "Do what you want with them" or not. Either way its crappy, but are they technically his possessions? I don't know.
