This is true. But i seem to remember in 2004 when CCH made their tournament run, people ranked the regions and most had them around the 12-14 mark and 2 weeks later people were claiming them to be the second best team in the state that year. Food for thought.

Other than one team, the 13th is very weak.

 

And with South and North Laurel leaving the 12th, it is without a doubt one of the weakest. A team with a losing record — Boyle Co. — may be the best bet to win the region. And they are riding a four-game win streak that has gotten their record to 8-9. The winner will probably be whoever goes into the postseason with the best momentum.

In '04, the 9th was down; however, CCH was one of the top teams in the state and Boone competed with some of the other top teams in the state (I think they knocked off Seneca, who was a top 5 team at the time).

 

This year, Holmes is the best in the 9th and they have not had great success downstate this year, although they did fare well in the 5/3rd Classic.

11th is no doubt the toughest.

I'd say that the 9th is about has improved from about the 10th best region to the 5th best region in just 3 weeks. Just imagine if Scott and Simon Kenton had stuck around for one more year!

Strongest has to be the 11th, followed by the 7th. Some good teams at the top of the 10th, but IMO not as deep top to bottom as the 11th.

Somebody finally found a legitimate use for the Cantrall ratings.

Would be hard to be weaker than the 12. Not counting loss of South Laurel probably the weakest it has been in last 10 years
