April 18, 201313 yr Cingrani isn't very pitch efficient at all. His strike to ball ratio needs a lot of improvement.
April 18, 201313 yr Little better 2nd inning for Cingrani. Still think he's going to need to develop a new pitch.
April 18, 201313 yr If he keeps letting people on we're gonna be here all night. He's slower at delivering the ball to the plate with runners on than Shaun Casey was when getting in the batters box.
April 19, 201313 yr Somebody must have gotten in his ear. He was avg 40 sec b/w every pitch with runners on the first 2 innings, now he's down to 22-25
April 19, 201313 yr Gotta love having Choo in our lineup. Guy just makes things happen. Votto with two more walks in his first two ABs. Hopefully Phillips can keep making them pay.
April 19, 201313 yr Cingrani is going to have to learn to pitch to contact. He's not going to be able to last long as a starter throwing this many pitches after 4 or 5 innings. It will kill the bullpen.

It will kill the bullpen. If it's a recurring scenario, then yes, it'll become a problem. However his first time out, coupled with the fact that Arroyo, Bailey and Leake have just gone 8-8-7 in the past three...if Cingrani gives them a solid 5 this first time out, I'll take it...bullpen should be well rested.

No doubt, but in his last appearance at Louisville he was at 40 pitches after 2 innings. It sounds like it may be the norm, but hopefully he'll be more relaxed next time out.
