April 9, 201313 yr Congrats to all the BGP / UL fans and I mean that. I don't think that there is any doubt that the best team in the country from the start of the season until now won the national championship. What a great game this one was by both teams. UL's defense imo eventually wore down Michigan and that was the difference. UL showed guts all through this tournament, especially in the final four. Hancock deserved the MVP, he was a key in both the WSU game and this one. Congrats again to the UL fans, your team deserved the championship. :thumb: This says it all. And w/o Ware.
April 9, 201313 yr Chane has played stand-up-and-notice basketball for more than seven or eight minutes in a game exactly twice this past season- tonight and against Notre Dame. I wish the kid the best, c'mon. I'm not even sure there's a lot of room for him overseas at the moment. He needs to put in the work he skipped last summer and find some sort of game outside of five feet.
April 9, 201313 yr Can't say I am happy with the result but I am happy for the UL fans I know and like. Siva and Behanan came up HUGE in this game. That made it sting a little more because I can't stand either of them. Everyone on the court other than the officials put on a hell of a show. They gotta be much better on the biggest stage. Other plus is we have a chance to keep the title in the bluegrass for 3 straight years. Yes, there is a chance of keeping the title in the Bluegrass for 3 straight years. Louisville can repeat!!

April 9, 201313 yr Congrats to the Cardinal fans. It has been a long time coming...27 years. I thought 1978 to 1996 was a long wait to experience a title, but Card fans have a reason to rejoice long and hard. They were the best team this year and the best team won. Be safe out there.

April 9, 201313 yr Anyone else want to discuss just how awful of a coaching job Beilein did in this game? Rick ran circles around him. I thought that he should have changed the way they defended Siva, either a zone or have his defender go under the screens. It's easy from the couch though.
April 9, 201313 yr Happy for my friends who are Cardinals fans, including the ones on here. Great game. I think that I enjoyed this game more than any other Championship (that didn't have UK in it). April 9, 201313 yr I haven't read through the thread yet, so forgive me if its already been mentioned... I didn't like or dislike Russ Smith before last night. Thought he was a fun player to watch, who played with a lot of heart. But the self pitty-party he seemed to have after he missed that last free throw, while the rest of his team was ready to celebrate says all I need to know about him. I might be off based, but he sure looked ticked off.

I heard that he owned up to his mistakes in a post game interview. Not knowing that you weren't in the bonus yet at the end of the game is crazy to me. While it definitely falls on Beilein, I really blame his assistant coaches. They should be all over that and in his ear that they still have a foul to give. Beilein thought the foul on Deing was sending him to the line.

I might be off based, but he sure looked ticked off. There was something amiss with Russ Smith last night and even in the WS game. Not sure if some of his advisers didn't put pressure on him to have a personal big game to up his draft stock. When his early play was off he seemed to get more selfish as the game went on and not do the 'other things'. 2 things at the end - his drive to the bucket with about 2 minutes right after a rebound when it was time to work the clock and his out-of-bounds pass over Siva's head. He had some other errors toward the end. On the plus side late in the game he passed up the 3-pt bomb late in the game, dribbled in and scored a nice jumper when needed. But the negatives were more than the positives at the end. Something was in this kids head last night.
