April 9, 201313 yr He hit above 270 all his seasons with the Reds except one year. Never struck out more than 100 times. Stole at least 30 bases during his tenure except his last year. Was an excellent fielder. Plus he gave everything he had. He was a pretty good player, not great, but not the scrub you make him out to be. He was an odd guy, but nothing to hate about him. He's one of my favorites I've watched. So he was very very very average, yet if you go to Reds games today, 5 years later you STILL see Ryan Freel shirts. Like I said, I didn't hate him but he is the most undeserving popular player in Reds history.
