Featured Replies

Anyone know if any local AAU teams will be in this weekend's Bearcat Classic tourney? If so, do you know their schedule? Would love to go see some basketball... I'm having withdraw :)

The NKY Bulldogs - U15 will be playing at the Bearcat. As far as I know, the schedules have not been posted yet.

In addition to whichever NoKY teams may be playing, I am pretty sure a couple of Cincinnati (and parts north) AAU teams with NoKY players on their rosters will be at the Bearcat this weekend. Should be a pretty decent field.

I have no details but the KY Timberwolves won their age group in the Bluegrass Bash this weekend at KBA.

TBC (Timberwolves Basketball Club) went 4-1 on the weekend. They beat 606 Tropics in the championship. Team looked really good and only had Wilson for Sunday.

They are playing in KnoxVegas Heat next weekend.

KnoxVegas is a nice tournament. Good luck Timberwolves.

Hoop Dreams 15u will be in the BCC. Schedules not released, usually Wed or Thursday before the schedules are finalized.

The Family 2, which has Herndon, Hill, Housely, and Chames of Holmes will be there.

That's it...thanks.

And yea I've heard he is a beast. I'll be at a couple EYBL events this summer so I'm hoping to see him in person.

According to one of Cumberland's former AAU teammates he is 17 years old due to being held back twice. Not to say he isn't an exceptional player, but if that account is accurate it should be considered when comparing him to the rest of the pack.

I can not account for his actual age, but I do know that he is eligible to play U15 per the AAU guidelines. He played U14 at nationals last year with All Ohio Elite. That makes him eligible for a comparison to all other U15 players. He may be older, but he is not the only one. He is playing by the rules set forth by the governing body. The playing field tends to level out at the high school age anyway. The cream will rise to the top. Cumberland is a beast any way you put it.

Former AAU teammates are always spot on accurate too.:lol2:

Yes he is a beast!!!. By the AAU guidelines he would be able to play U15 because he is a 9th grader.

This would be U17---players who are currently juniors, correct? Do you know who is coaching Family 2? Thanks.

Lighten up, friend! I never said the kid was breaking any rules and I certainly never implied he is not a superior player -- in fact, I went out of my way to say otherwise. I was simply offering some information for folks who, by sheer chance, may only get to see Cumberland play once or twice and may only get to see him play against some biologically younger kids.

Schedules have been posted for the Bearcat Classic:

NKY Bulldogs will play Key Players, SMAC - Moody, & Indy EBC

NKY Legends will play Ohio Unity, Dayton Metro, & Ohio Cagers

WKY Sonics will play Next Level Retros, Dayton Pilots, & Shining Star - Zadelli

Hoop Dreams will play Cincy Lakers, Shining Star - Clinkenbeard, & AAG

There are 29 teams. Looks liek a good tournament.
