that would be fine with me, just wondering where you are getting this info??

Will Corbin be in the east or the west? Maybe we need a central division.

 Do you mean 3A?

None of these schools are in 4A and there not in the same district either. Highlands, CovCath, Grant Co. and South Laurel are in the same district. Holmes is dropping down and will be in there district too.

South Laurel is a 4A school with approximately 1200 students, so they won't be in this 3A district.

So Holmes will take there place when the reclassification happens. I think Pendleton may be in their too joining 3A after being an independent.

Will Highlands stay in 3A? I heard some rumbling that the "revered" KHSAA was going to force teams to play in their correct class and not play up in class. Does anyone know the exact enrollment at Highlands, and where the # puts them in classification?

I think he meant South Oldham. LOL. I'd sure hate it for any team in NKy to be in a district with South Laurel...simply based upon the travel that they'd ave to do for every game. Heck the district that Rockcastle County is in rght now has probably some of the longest road trips for any district in the state.

I don't exactly know if Highlands has been playing up in recent years but they've definitely been borderline 2A/3A for a few years. The link that I am providing is the current year enrollment figures by size that the KHSAA has on it's site. it's a PDF file and has ever school listed...note that this include those non-football playing schools too.

Yes I did, and never even caught it when he questioned it. thanks for the correction. :D Highlands has always been closer to a 2A than a 4A school thats for sure.

Depending on which schools are playing varsity schedules, there could be some interesting class shifts. Danville is close to going back to 2A. Paducah Tilghman and Highlands are also close to being in 2A.

It seems certain that Owensboro Catholic will be in Class A. Warren Central and Owensboro could be back in 3A.

If those teams move to 2A it would go from what some think is the weakest class, to pushing 4A for the strongest.

Belfry

Russell

Highlands

Danville

All those in the East.........

Danville would have to be in with Corbin since they only have 4 teams and they are farther west than Corbin

Highlands moving down to 2A would be one of the worst decisions in KHSAA history... (right behind two certain transfer court cases ;) )
