The best players play... end of discussion. That might be an excuse used but the player that earns the spot plays. It is no secret which kids work hard and put in the time in the offseason. If someone feels they are not playing enough, work harder and get better. For the I wish they would get good comment, we thought the same about Cooper the last couple years. Now that you have finally beaten us it can be discussed as a rivalry.

 

Can you honestly say that Nathan Davis was the best QB on Ryle's roster the last two years and that the position was truly open to competition?

Again, you're immature language on this site shows your true hatred for Ryle and Bryson Warner. Ryle takes more criticism than any other team in NKY. There are numerous schools that play 5A/6A football which don't receive equal amounts of flack which could probably garner a bit more attention. With that being said, Ryle has put themselves in position to be that team that can challenge as a top two/three team in NKY each year and are coming off a horrendous season. Hopefully the re-energized Ryle faithful represented on this site speaks for the entire community.

 

Lets go ahead and stop comparing Ryle to Highlands. They are not there...they approached them but have since fallen. Ryle will be back with the upcoming classes or it may be time for a change.

Because I think a guy is not that great of a coach I am immature? He has the Owen Hauck mentality and it doesn't work in this era of football. I have nothing against the guy at all. I just think he needs to expand upon what he does to be successful on a yearly basis. Ryle should be very good every year not every 4 or 5...JMO

No, the problem is that people are getting on here and chirping about Ryle being the next great thing in NKY and that Highlands should watch out. My question is why should Highlands watch out? They are not even in the same classification nor will they be anytime soon. Ryle should be worrying about Simon Kenton, Dixie Heights, Boone County and Campbell County because they are who Ryle needs to play and defeat over these next few years. Then they need to find a way to make a deep run in the playoffs and find a way to beat Trinity and/or St. X. Highlands has absolutely nothing to do with what Ryle needs to be successful.

They had same amount of players last fall, so with 20+ senoirs leaving and only a hand full of baseball players (not counting freshman) are the numbers really any better?

 

The numbers may not be drastically better, but I think the skill level is definatly on the upswing. True we lost some good seniors, true we may play some sophmores this year. Not because we dont have enough, because they are good enough and big enough to contribute. This may be a year that we fight for respect. But we are coming, the momentum is gaining.

I know Coach Warner is looking forward to developing the strong youth movement Ryle is currently experiencing. With the exception of CovCath their 8th grade team whooped folks. It was mentioned earlier in the thread, Ryle will struggle against SK and Dixie for the next couple seasons. I predict they get back on a good foot in three seasons.

I could not agree with you more. To build a house you have to lay a foundation. We are excited because we think we have a good foundation. For you Highlands guys, we realize that we have not built a dynasty like you. You're on top, so everyone gunning for you ! GET USED TO IT. But please stop acting like you guys are invincible. Power tends to shift from time to time. Im sure we'll be more gracious to you when you're on the bottom.

We dont think we are the next great thing. We are excited about the kids we have and are excited about this being the start of building a good solid program. We have to turn the corner sometime. I think these are the groups we do it with.

So true!!! I think we should all evacuate the boards the week Ryle and SK play this year....we'll just turn the boards over to those two and sit back and enjoy the entertainment!
