I think their numbers suffered because of a few coaches they had. Warner has made some changes for the better with that staff the last couple of years. Hopefully that will get kids out of the halls and on the field. Your right 50 is low they should be cutting 50. But I can say the kids they get are dedicated. They still could benefit from more numbers. What are the other schools pulling?

What has the record been for Ryle's freshman team the last 6 years? I ask this because it seems to me their freshman teams have been pretty good. That doesn't mean varsity success. It can lead to success, but it doesn't always follow. In freshman ball, 2 or 3 stud players will win you games. It doesn't work that way in varsity football. I would not automatically expect Ryle to be the best 6A team in the district in 2-3 years because their freshman team was the runner up in the freshman league.

 

I can agree with that as a usual pattern. But this seems to be a different group. Something about their closeness and character, heart. Hope your wrong. Iwould like to see this group of kids turn it around.

What coaching changes are you talking about? I do not know the coaching staff per say (all the assistants) but I thought they had a pretty good team 3 years ago but seemed to take some steps backwards since.

As been stated before: great freshman teams do not equate to championships at the varsity level. Beechwood's 2008 frosh team destroyed HHS as freshmen and never won a championship. Good luck to you, but your logic is flawed. It's entirely different at the varsity level.

I think CCH (4A) may end up with @ 80-90 Soph thru Sr. Probably 45-50 Frosh.

They've got @40 Soph's alone, so yeah I'm pretty sure they'll be somewhere between 80-90.

Couple reasons I think:

1) last years Frosh enrollment the highest in 10 years w/ @150 boys ( this years upcoming Frosh expected to eclipse that # as well) so there are just that many more boys on campus.

2) like several other programs, Colonel Youth Football has taken root and grown in numbers every year. Its paying off now after its 5th year in existence.

It's true this team has struggled since the Elliot days. They are run oriented. In saying that they have a handfull, not just one, of talented young backs. A year to mature and then I think it's off to the races.
