I have asked that question several times with no responses.Why does success at Ryle scare everyone so much? We have one down year and they want to keep us down and why? They know we are the one school that has the kids,talent and coaching to steal their THUNDER. Highlands was able to get a little taste of it a couple years ago when we beat them and they did not like it. Now they think we are down and they are trying to keep us there. Ryle is on their way back up and we will see you at the top. Keep on hating... your only fueling the fire.

 

Don't know about others but I highly doubt anyone at Highlands is afraid of Ryle stealing their thunder. Not from a team they beat 7 of the 8 times they played recently, usually by very comfortable margins if not outright blowouts. I hope Ryle does return to the level they were at as it will make things interesting on here with certain fans of teams in their conference.

The best players play... end of discussion. That might be an excuse used but the player that earns the spot plays. It is no secret which kids work hard and put in the time in the offseason. If someone feels they are not playing enough, work harder and get better. For the I wish they would get good comment, we thought the same about Cooper the last couple years. Now that you have finally beaten us it can be discussed as a rivalry.

Fair enough. The better talent in this area the more scouts will flock to games and see a kid they might have overlooked. A lot of kids have been found when a scout is there to see somebody else. But believe that there has been a culture change at Ryle. There is no quit in these upcoming kids. With that good luck to all the programs, and stay healthy. After all it is just a game. ( the best darn game there is ) Lets raise some good God fearing young men through sports, academics and role models !!!!!!!!!

What has the record been for Ryle's freshman team the last 6 years? I ask this because it seems to me their freshman teams have been pretty good. That doesn't mean varsity success. It can lead to success, but it doesn't always follow. In freshman ball, 2 or 3 stud players will win you games. It doesn't work that way in varsity football. I would not automatically expect Ryle to be the best 6A team in the district in 2-3 years because their freshman team was the runner up in the freshman league.

 

Starting with last years freshmen and two age groups behind them, they have been smashing everyone. So I think they will get some good athletes out of that span that will play on one team.

They have the O-line and if they get a QB that can get the ball to the receivers and move away from the run run run mentality they could very well be a tough team to beat. Jolmstead hit the nail on the head. A balanced offense can make all the difference in the world. Only time will tell.

 

We may be a run to open the pass type team. Open by play action. If we can run with some success. I seen teams last year put 9 in the box and blitz every gap. If we could have thrown a slant or screen we would have been off to the races.

You're right, a return by Ryle to their former level won't make things interesting. My bad.

This is what I am talking about. There is a new culture and attitude at Ryle... these kids want to win and will not accept anything else.

 

They had same amount of players last fall, so with 20+ senoirs leaving and only a hand full of baseball players (not counting freshman) are the numbers really any better?

After the Hempel class they went back to just being a team in Boone County. Maybe they will set new expectations.

Again, you're immature language on this site shows your true hatred for Ryle and Bryson Warner. Ryle takes more criticism than any other team in NKY. There are numerous schools that play 5A/6A football which don't receive equal amounts of flack which could probably garner a bit more attention. With that being said, Ryle has put themselves in position to be that team that can challenge as a top two/three team in NKY each year and are coming off a horrendous season. Hopefully the re-energized Ryle faithful represented on this site speaks for the entire community.

 

Lets go ahead and stop comparing Ryle to Highlands. They are not there...they approached them but have since fallen. Ryle will be back with the upcoming classes or it may be time for a change.
